I just found out that I am pregnant!
So, we have a trip planned for christmas and I am curious to know what I can and can't do while I am there. I guess by then I will be about 4 months along.
Thanks!

We went while I was 5 months along. We did almost everything I wanted to do. I do find though that my DD is now addicted to all the things I rode on. Coincidence?

Congrats!!!! :yay:
I was only about 2 months preggie when I went to Disney. If the ride had a pregnancy warning I stayed off it, except for KS. AK wasn't open when we were there on our honeymoon so I decided to ride it. If I would've been further along I know I wouldn't have done it. The funny thing is that my DD was 5-1/2 weeks early, but I really don't think that had anything to do with it. Ask your doctor!!!

Congrats on the impending addition to your family!

I went at almost 3 months and did WAY too much. Although you will be able to do MOST of what's on offer, my advise would be to pace yourself. I felt great at 2 /12 months, went to Disney, was on the go from morning until night and never felt sicker than I did on the 18 hour ride home.

Lots of water, lots of breaks (take 'em even when you don't think you 'need' them!!) and avoid the attractions with warning signs. I had nearly 5 months of 'all day sickness' and I attribute it to wearing myself out completely at Disney early on. Honestly, I never quite caught up.

Pace yourself, and think about how much fun it will be to bring Baby when he or she is just a bit older. :)

Congrats to you! Just know that you are going to have a Disney baby on the way! My Mom was pregnant with me when she went to WDW and two years later we went to WDW and she was pregnant with my brother. We had no choice, but to be Disney addicts! :goodvibes Which, is a good thing!

I went to Disney at 6 months pregnant with DD #1. I was very active during my pregnancy, so my doctor said "Go to Disney and enjoy" but not to go on anything with a G-Force. (I did go on Splash! Shhhh, my little secret.!) Besides my feet KILLING ME, it was awesome! My husband loved it, finally something to slow me down!

Talk to your doctor.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

I would talk to your doctor....I would say any of the roller coasters would be a NO...other than that you should be able to do anything else!!!

DH and I just found out that BOTH of our sisters are pregnant....6 weeks apart!!! I am gonna be an aunt double time!! I have already told them both that DH and I will definately be taking the babies to Disney once they are older!

I went while 2 months pregnant and did pretty much everything. . . . in fact, it's easier to list what I didn't do than what I did. I think all I skipped was TOT and RNR and Mission:space.
Good trip, didn't over work myself and only problem was swollen ankles.

I am going again in less than a week and a half. . . .7 months this time, same pregnancy. There is a WEALTH of info on both the internet and the DIS boards, all of which I have found very helpful. Dr gave pretty much the same advice, take it easy, drink LOTS, eat when you're hungry, etc. She did recommend a pregnancy support belt (I'm BIG) and if I didn't feel too silly I might get a wheel chair.

I was at WDW at 12w and DL around 25w. Felt much better at DL since the terrible morning sickness had stopped. While I was at WDW the restaurants were awesome in accomodating my food requests since I was pretty nauseaus (like a grilled cheese at Kona).

I was there in Dec last year so the heat was not an issue. Just drink lots of water. and Congrats!

Definitely do not do Tower of Terror or any of the roller coasters. You should probably stick to the real tame rides like Pirates and Jungle cruise, anything else and you may be taking chances. (I'm talking about the fast jerky G-Force rides like the coasters and TOT, stay clear of those.) But I think most will have the pregnancy warning at the ride entrance so pay attention to those.

I went to WDW when I was 3 months pregnant and it was great. I took my time and rested when I needed to. I love roller coasters but didn't get to ride any of course. That was the only thing I had to complain about. Other than that, have a great time and enjoy being pregnant! :cool1:

I also talked to my doctor and she said that the baby was still so small and well protected that I could ride most anything but stay away from roller coasters (of course) and things that stopped suddenly. I hope that helps!

Have fun and CONGRATULATIONS!

I'd use the rule that whatever you don't mind taking a baby on, you can ride. After all you wouldn't take babies on rollercoasters or ToT, would you?

The UG recommends taking a fold down golf chair, drinking more, going at a slower pace and having a relax each day. You should be fine :goodvibes

Just so you know it's actually safer to do rides at 2 months pregnant than at 4 months!! So the rides the other poster did were OK for them, but not for a fetus at 4 months gestation. Rides like Splash mountain aren't allowed because of the pressure it puts on your abdomen for instance, so this would be OK in early pregnancy but not in the second trimester.

HTH a little

And whatever you do, DON'T go on It's a Small World! Can you imagine your poor baby being trapped inside your uterus with no idea of what that horrible racket is going on outside?! :teeth:

Congratulations!

We're taking our two and three year old daughters to Disney the first week of December and I'm going to be about 5 months pregnant at the time. Last year was our first trip to DW and because my girls were so young we took naps in the middle of the day. We're definitely planning on doing that again this year because mommy will need a nap! I say take advantage of your condition and eat lots of ice cream and popcorn!

Have a wonderful trip!

geez, now I feel silly i didn't mention . . . .. our first trip while I was pregnant I did a bunch of rides I WILL NOT be doing this time around. . . . .just clarifying. I agree that there is a big difference between early pregnancy and safety and later pregnancy and safety.

But that's the wonderful things about Disney. . . so much to do anyways without the thrills. And I have a feeling I will be chilling enough that I won't mind sitting and waiting for my son and husband to go on rides. . . .but I've been to Disney parks enough that at this point it's really all about the atmospher anyways. :)

Crongrats. I agree with all of the above. Good news is EDc is not too hot so that may help! COMFY shoes, ie crocs or teva..whatever works for you.

I'll be ther too from DEc 19th -Jan2..look for the lime green Mickey with my screen name on it!

I'll hold you a place in line...you know like the big cutting/not cutting debate on about 3 or so threads!! :rotfl2:

We toured Disney is Dec '04 when I was 5 months pregnant with our daughter. My midwide said stay off the coasters and TOT. I rode Splash Mtn once and felt mys tomach drop to my feet and then start toward well you get the pic so that was the only time I rode that. I rode the Safari at AK many times. Along with coasters, I would avoid Dinosaur, Mission Spce, Test Track, TOT.....use good judgement. I was amazed at how tired I was by lunch so take frequent breaks and hydrate.
