Is this doable? I will be 5 months along when we go on our annual trip in December. I do not want to cancel as it will be our last trip until the baby is old enough to enjoy it. I will be driving from New England, about 24 hours straight through, though this time it will take much longer will a possible overnight so I am not sitting for that long.

ANy strategies to think about while pregnant? Should I cancel now or wait and see how I am feeling closer to the trip? Any tips and hints are very welcome as I want to start planning for anything extra now.

My boys are 6 & 8 and will know about the pregnancy by the time we go. And I don't like roller coasters so staying off them is not a problem! ;)

I did do WDW at 5 mos. pregnant. (Now my DD is 8 and has been to WDW 6 times!) Make sure to take lots of breaks. It shouldn't be too hot during your time frame so that will be good. Drink lots of water and be prepared to rest, if needed. I was still having a bit of morning sickness at that time and just had to make sure I ate many small meals/snacks during the day. Have fun and congrats on the new baby!!

:wave2: I haven't done DWD while pregnant, but did work in an ob-gyn office. You should be fine on the drive as long as you stop every 2 or 3 hours and walk around awhile, the same advice if you were flying. I wouldn't try to do it all in one day though, if it is possible it would be better to stay overnight somewhere. As long as you stay off the thrill rides, everything else should be ok. Go and have a great trip. :thumbsup2

My daughter is pregnant and rode some of the tame rides and some of the wilder rides we sat outside or took the train for a ride. She was more tired than usual and did drink a lot of water.

I was almost 5 months preggo on our early December trip last year...it was fine! I did better than I thought I would, not as tired with all the walking as I expected to be. Have fun and congrats! :sunny:

Been there, done that! december would be a nice time to try it, we went when I was 8 1/2 months in June, and that was NO good :guilty: we also went two other times with 4 month along in the winter and that was A OK! popcorn:: Might have gained a bit more with all the popcorn and all, but I was fine in the winter! Go and enjoy yourself!

We went when my wife was 7 1/2 months. She just couldn't let us all go without her so we had to get her a ticket last minute. It was fine. She rented a cart and we had a blast. Glad she got to go. DD is now 19 months and ready to get her first haircut at Disney in Jan.

Thanks so much for the replies. I think we are going to do it as long as everything is going along fine. And I think your right that not only will we have to take more breaks in the driving but also stay overnight on the way down and back, just to be safe. It will take a few more days but will be worth it for the 2 of us to stay safe. I just really don't want to cancel on the boys, it's hard enough having a new sibling without losing the traditional Disney trip as well! Thanks for all the advice!
