Hi Everyone!
I was married at Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World, FL in January 2003. I am now planning my wedding reception back home in September and need ideas for decorations and favors. I may or may not wear my Cinderella-style wedding dress with tiara. I want to use my caketop that we got from Disney, it's Mickey and Minnie in wedding attire. I am willing to make things myself and buy other things. I plan on having about 100 people at a park in a chalet, so it's casual. We are having a pig roast and buffet catered. I'm also looking for good memory keepsakes that the guests can participate in. Any ideas? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Wear your wedding attire! It will be the only time you'll be able to wear it more than once!
as for favors and stuff...
first-dont put balloons on the table if you are going to put candles on the table too-they will pop when they get low enough
2. a neat little thing to do is to make flower pens (a person I work with had a family reunion and used these as favors)
Take a silk flower-cut the stem to be about an inch long....take a clear bic pen and floral tape...take the flower to the pen with floral tape and put the top on it. Make your label-the usual groom bride married date tag-and use that as the leaf...
3. have a luau...you're getting married at the polynesian-go with the theme. If you do this-you wouldnt have to wear your wedding atire-but I would put "Hawian Dress" on the invites-have some fun and hawain shirts, shorts or even grass skirts...enjoy it!
Have a pig roast with all the fixings!
4. DO NOT DO KAREOKE...this was done at a wedding I just went to -it was terrible! either that or I wasnt drunk enough!
5. definately use your cake topper from disney...
6. have photos on a table somewhere for guests to look at...that way they can share the expirence....
7. If you want to have the fairytale all over again....go with super formal...maybe a black tie affair.
8. Keep a blank scrapbook (not a top loading one though) Have people at your reception leave advice, good wishes, etc...it will be a great keepsake!
this is all I can come up with for now-I hope it helps...

Those flower pens sound cute but if you can get to your nearest Disney Store I bet you can stock up on Antenna toppers and they will make even better pen toppers and give you the Disney theme that you want.
Remember in High School when you had a test. You wrote stuff really small on a piece of paper and put it into the Bic clear pen and it magnified what you wrot and you got a better grade? I never said "I" did it, I said the royal "YOU"
You can write or print out on the computer everyone's name and put them inside the bic pens and make a cute flower arrangement on each table for the guests that are supposed to be sitting there.
Go to the craft store and buy some black foam sheets and make everyone Mickey ears. I bet if you got everyone up to do the bunny hop in Mickey Ears it could get pretty funny on the dance floor.
and congratulations, hope you both are very happy for the rest of your lives. Peggie

Oh I love creative people! I can never think of anything! But I would say....make sure to have little mickey confeti on the table! You know the little punchie heads they put on the tables at Disney.
Also if you did flowers on the table you could use 3 small round vases and arrange them into hidden mickey's on the table. Of course you can have some wonderful Disney music playing during meal time.
Pictures would be nice But I don't know if I would put out my real album. But if you have doubles you could make up a nice display.
Congrat!

you could probably get away with the hidden mickey theme through out the reception....not just on the table...if you are going to have flower arrangements on the table...you could put a mickey head on the bottom of a plate at each table then that way who ever had the mickey head on the bottom of the plate can take home the arrangement. if you add hidden mickeys elsewhere in the reception area it will give the guest something to do...like I mentioned before-stay away from kareoke! *laugh*
