Disney weather

I leave for Disney in a week and a half....aaaaah, so excited!!!! I don't know how to pack? I hear reports of it being cold but it's showing as mid twenties?! In this part of the world, that's a nice beach day thoughts? Does it get cold at night?

We have been twice in January, twice in August, and once in December. For the winter months.....you can expect almost anything.

Pack so that you can dress in layers. Some t-shirts. A couple of hoodies. Both pants and shorts. You could get summer-like temperatures or you could get downright cold days. Sometimes, both in the same week.

Generally speaking, you will definitely get much cooler air temps when the sun goes down. You might even find you have days you need stretch gloves.

On one trip, we visited Discovery Cove on January 1st. Temps by afternoon were in the low-80's . A few days later, we were wearing our winter coats at Universal, and were making frequent stops at the bathrooms to hold our hands under the dryers just to warm them up. A huge variance! A day or two later, we were back to warm.

As unpredictable as the weather can be, I usually check out a 10 day forecast beforehand. http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USFL0372?from=search_10day.

The only time I went in January was a few years ago - we had 18-22C weather everyday. However, 2 weeks prior they were in a deepfreeze.

I guess be prepared because if you need to buy some heavier warmer clothing @ Disney, you'll be paying through the nose !

We leave in 3 days for our 5th mid-late December trip in last 6 years. In that time we have been there for recorded setting days on both ends. In 2010 the morning we left it was -4 C, in 2011 we had a heat wave almost the whole trip that saw a Dec record temp one day of 33 C. In 4 trips we have spent a total of 51 days in Orlando in mid-late Dec, I guestimate that about 41 of those days had a daytime high of 20 C or higher. The majority of the 10 days that were cooler came all in one trip in 2010.

So the odds are in favor of mostly nice weather, but you really need to prepare for everything from 0 C to 30 C LOL!!
