Please review the following magazines - compare and contrast.

D23 ($16.95 at B&N) (Please say nothing about the the $75 membership)

Orlando Attractions (4 Issues for 19.99)

Celebrations (6 issues for $29.99)

I can only speak to "Celebrations", which I have been getting since the second issue. It's an all-positive Disney publication - no negative reviews or opinions. Lots of color photos (most of them stock), and a lot of history (recent articles have included River Country, the MK resorts that never were, etc.). It is very text heavy and not laid out well, IMO. Needs more breaks and white space to make it easier to read. Hopefully that will improve with time. Most of the people who write for it have a Disney-related business of their own (Lou Mongello, MouseFan Travel, etc), so you have to take what is written with a grain of salt. I like it as it gives me my Disney fix up here in Iowa, but it reads more like a brochure from Disney than a news magazine.

Interested to hear about anyone who gets Orlando Attractions magazine!

I currently get both the Orlando Attractions and Celebration magazines and will continue to get both as long as they are being printed. I love them both,:lovestruc but give a slight edge to Orlando Attractions. One concern I had with Celebration initially was the first 1-2 issues had lots of typos and grammatical issues; but, this has since been remedied. I agree with the pp that Celebrations is a little text heavy, but Lou and his gang have such a geniune love for Disney it doesn't bother me. One thing I love about Orlando Attractions is that none of the articles are too long and I love alot of their regular features, i.e. talking about past, present and future projects in a quick and fun to read format.

As for "compare and contrast" these magazines - I shuddered when I read that because it sounded like an English term paper. :rolleyes1

I subscribe to both Orlando Attractions and Celebrations. I casually flipped through the first D23 magazine at Barnes and Noble and didn't buy it. It looked like a nice art book, but that was it.

I always wanted something to fill the gap left when Disney Magazine went under, and I think Orlando Attraction edges out Celebrations. I think others have pretty much answered the reasons behind that choice. I think OA is better at layout and design, but Celebrations has the talents of Tim Devine. (No, those are not stock photos. Tim really does take seriously great pictures.)

Looking for more responses.
Surely other people have opinions about these publications... :confused3
