Which one is better? Typhoon or Blizzard?

Last time I went to one of Disney's water parks was I'm guessing 20 years ago. I think Blizzard was being built....or it wasn't even starting construction.

We would have a 1 year old, 3 year old and their grandmother with us....so at that rate which is better.

we prefer Typhoon Lagoon because of the theming mostly. For whatever reason, it feels to me like there is too much concrete at BB. i think folks tend to prefer the slides at BB. I'm assuming that won't be a big draw for the young kids or the grandmother. :) i can't speak to whether one has a better kids area than the other.

I have a strong preference for BB with kids that young, but both are good options. BB has a 'better' kids area in my opinon, which at that age is important for us.

TL is awesome too, just felt like we had a bit less to do with the kiddos.

You'll find lots of water park threads here, so just a quick recommendation to do a search and you'll come up with a lot of stuff.

Short answer is that I don't really think one is "better" than the other. I don't even know I'd agree BB has a better kids area. It's more obvious and clustered together, but not necessarily better. As for adults, they both offer relatively similar things. Family tube rides...the BB one can hold 6, the ones at TL only 4. Tube slides, mat slides, big slides...they both have them. TL has a roller coaster-esque tube slide in that jets of water propel you up small hills, which BB doesn't have. Both have fun lazy rivers. Both have fun wave pools, but they are VERY different. The BB wave pool is small and continuous little waves...like bobbing up and down on a raft. The one at TL has waves that come once every 2 minutes or so, but they are the most powerful wave you will likely ever experience. Definitely not for the weak swimmer if you go in more than knee deep. However, the beauty of it is that it's a zero entry pool, so even a toddler can go in...at the very far edge of the pool those monster waves have weakened into 2" gentle water movements.

Both are great, but I might lean more towards Blizzard Beach. The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is just so rough! We also really like the family raft ride at BB, and I think the theming of the kids areas is better. When my kids were younger, they definitely preferred BB over TL.

The best attraction at either is the wave pool at TL, but overall I feel like there's much more to do at BB especially now that they have closed shark reef at TL.
