Disney vs Universal- which do you prefer?

I like Disney for theming and food and rides. And customer service.

I like Island of Adventure for some variety, but I like Disney better. Haven't been since the Wizarding World opened. Next trip...

I don't like Universal Studios Orlando at all, expect for Mummy and Men in Black.

Wow, another one of these. Post it on the Univ Bd and you'll get different answers.

I am an annual pass holder of USF. I went to Disney for the first time when I was 44 and for the last time when about 6 years ago. I like Universal and IoA much better because because it fits ME better.

I don't have the emotional attachment that most people have with the theming and the memories. It's not good or bad, just a preference.

I love both so I do both, why should we have to choose? I love the feel of WDW but the rides at Univesal and IOA are 100% absolutely better IMO. Disney has nothing like The Mummy or Spiderman, but Universal doesn't have The Castle or Fireworks or the music. Apples to oranges, can't compare them because they are 2 different things entirely and i love both:goodvibes

Both, but I personally don't think they're too comparable. Universal is more "thrill" and geared toward a slightly older crowd. Disney is more "theme" and geared toward the family as a whole.

For me, Universal by far has better rides but if I had to pick between the two, I wouldn't hesitate in picking Disney.

I prefer WDW because of the theming, atmosphere, memories, etc.

Universal is great but I'm not a thrill ride type of girl. I don't do crazy rides (rollercoasters with loops) so it's not my cup of tea BUT, I wouldn't mind going if others wanted to.

It's just down to preference on what kind of experience you want to have.

I like them both.
Universal lately has been winning the technology ride catergory imo. Disney has the "theming" down packed and they are better IMO for little kids.

We try to do both whenever we are in town for more than 5 days.

Another one who enjoys both for different reasons. Disney has better fireworks, City Walk has better restaurants, More variety at Disney, coolest ride ever is Spiderman, Halloween Horror night over Mickey's halloween party, Food & Wine Festival for favorite special event. I used to like Sea World a lot better when they had free beer.

I love them both but I do believe that Universal has done a better job of offering their guests "new" experiences for those that visit often. It seem as if new attractions are years apart at Disney.

Also, I believe that Universals FOTL pass is much better than anything Disney has to offer to their on site guests. E-Nights used to be a lot of fun because they were limited to a certain number of guests.

I honeymooned in Disney 31 years ago and have many wonderful memories with my family there. We've visited over 20 times since our honeymoon. I love it but Universal is wonderful too.

We love them both too. It's silly to compare. They are completely different experiences. We do both every time we go to Orlando.

Disney is so much better IMO. which do you like better and why?

I think they are both outstanding theme parks with a great variety of rides and incredible attention to detail in regards to theme.

We always stay at Universal for FOTL and because we are Loews Platinum, so get upgraded to a suite.

Because my kids are older, we usually spend the preponderance of our time at Universal, but throw in a few Disney days for our Disney fix.

I don't think one is far superior than the other. They both have their own personalities and unique qualities.

We enjoy them both equally.

My preference is Disney.

We have done IOA once and it was enjoyable. But we prefer Disney.

I'm not that big into roller coasters.

We do plan an onsite visit in 2012 to do wwohp. Everyone in my family wants to go.

I hate waiting in lines and that is the major marketing reason that us turns me off. We'll stay on site to alleviate some of that even though their version of fp isn't good on all rides.

But I don't feel that there is anything that ioa/us is doing wrong. I just don't feel that I am in their particular demographic. Wwohp looks fantastic though and we'll give it a go.

I kind of wonder why it isn't larger. But channel 6 did a 1 hour preview and we were mesmerized by the details.
