Can Canadians get the Disney Visa?

Where do you get it from?

Does it work good, do you get points, Disney dollars, perks?

Thanks!

To my knowledge, the Disney Visa is only available to US residents.

Unfortunately only US residents can get them. I am lucky because when we get back to Canada I will be able to keep my Disney card. The perks are 1% of money spent on the card comes back to you as Disney money.

It's annoying that they got rid of the Disney Club and replaced it with Disney Visa...yet non-Americans are left out of it.

I so agree, Every now and then when I can get my hands on an application I fill it out hoping my application will get by and one day I will open the mail box and there it will be my very own DISNEY VISA...

I know I am dreaming !
But it doesn't hurt !

Hi: Why would they take the disney card away replacing it with a visa card that only Americans can access. They must know that alot of Canadians and other non Americans go to wdw?

I consider it short-sightedness. I very much enjoyed getting my little (and I mean little) discounts at World of Disney.

I guess I should count myself lucky...2 years after they killed the Disney Club, I was still receiving the Disney magazine...until they killed that too.

I know that Visa Internatuional has some rules about issuing cards only in the country of residents so this one I don't think we can blame on Disney.

I wonder if anyone has tried using their DVC address as a residence to apply for a card????

But we can blame them for replacing an international program (Disney Club) with something that is only available to Americans. And I remember when they told us the DC was shutting down, that the Disney Visa was offered as a replacement.

Hi there!

From my experience, as Canadians, we can get any Visa that we want. A few years ago, I got one and it was a BIG hassle though... not worth it at all. You get your bill late, and it is then hard to pay on time. It is nearly impossible to keep on a good schedule. At times, I even got my bill after the due date. I imagine it is probably the same with the Disney Visa... so I assume they don't recommend it to Canadians because they know the result. However yes, you are right... it is really crappy that there is no loyalty/rewards program for Canadians.

The problem with the Disney Visa, is that it is issue in the US. To be available in Canada, it would be necessary for the card to be issued in Canada by a Canadian bank.

For example American Express is ussued by the AMEX Bank of Canada.

I would have loved a Disney Visa but been a UK citizen I am not in with a chance! :guilty:
