Disney Visa

I just received the Disney Visa card. How does everyone earn points so fast? I'm unable to pay my mortgage (Wells Fargo) and my car (gmac) with it :( I do plan on paying my cell, groceries car insurance and electric with it but go to Disney often since we are DVC and would love to know how others are racking up 900 plus points a year :)

If I were using my Disney Visa for everyday expenses, I would be using it for:
1. car insurance - $1000-1200/year;
2. house insurance - $1500-2000/year;
3. medical appointments - $20-300/appt (includes dental);
4. groceries - $300-500/month
5. cell phone bills - $100/month;
6. gas - $40-50 per fill up (gas is $3.50-4/gallon here)
and any other purchases for which there would not be a fee to use a credit card (I buy a lot of stuff online).

@kateandy08096 Did you get the regular Disney Visa card or the Premier? If you are looking to rack up points quickly, and plan to use the card for most regular purchases in addition to your monthly bills, you might want to consider the Premier which earns double points on categories like grocery stores and gas stations and Disney locations. The Premier card has an annual fee, but mine more than pays for itself with the extra points. Be careful, though, if you do most of your grocery shopping at warehouse clubs or some WalMarts as those won't be double (they are categorized as warehouse/discount rather than grocery store).

Enjoy your vacation!

I just got approved for the no-fee Disney Visa with the $200 statement credit. The offer says the credit posts in six to eight weeks after the minimum spend is achieved- does anyone know if actually takes that long? I’m hoping it actually posts within the same billing cycle but that may be wishful thinking...

I received my first disney visa a couple weeks ago. I'll get a $200 disney gift card when I spend $500 in first three months (hit that yesterday) and I've already received my $50 bonus disney gift card for adding an authorized user and having them use their card once for any purchase. That card came 5 days after authorized user used it. I was shocked!

I do not have either Disney card, however, as a general rule, I keep any card that does not have an annual fee in perpetuity. The two I have, I have had for years and years, before I started playing the credit card game. I tend not to sign up for new $0 annual fee cards because the bonuses typically aren't as good.

Quick additional question on this credit card: is there any advantage to signing up for this card at the parks / Disney Springs? My son wants to get it, and he was wondering if they give out any trinkets if you sign up there. We do have a trip coming up, so it’s an option to wait.
