Disney Visa

We recieved a Disney Visa app in the mail today offering enough points for a 200 Gift Card after we use it once. It is addressed to our "family" Doesn't specify my husband or me.

My question is I am a Stay at Home mom and obviously they ask for employer info which I don't have. Do they really look into that or do you think I would have a chance at getting the card without an employer? I have very good credit.

I could have my husband apply but he doesn't think that he can do it because he has another card with Chase. Can you as individual have more than one credit card with Chase being the primary person? We each have 2 discover cards but one is in his name and one is in my name and we just added each other to the account. I just don't know if He can have 2 Chase cards

Obviously I would really like the $200 gift card as that would be great for our trip in September.

Thanks for any info that you can provide me...

Ashley

You can have two cards with Chase as long as your credit history does not prevent you from being accepted as a Disney Visa cardholder. Sure, you can apply on your own or apply jointly with your husband.

I have another card with Chase and when I got my Disney one (online) I didn't have to fill out anything. It asked if I had any other Chase accounts and prompted me to log in to my account. All of the info was transferred.

I am also a SAHM and had no problem getting a card (I did not get the $200 offer). They ask for your household income, so I put down DH's income and indicated that I did not have an employer. I do have ver good credit and was approved with no issues.

You may not get a very high credit limit. Mine was $3500 and I just noticed on my last statement that they bumped it up to $4500. That limit was fine for me. I just use the card for all our monthly expenses to earn the points and then pay it off each month.

As for your other question, I'm pretty sure when the discussion of the $200 promotion started someone posted that she has 3 or 4 Disney Visas. She just kept applying for new ones whenever a good promotion came out and she had never been denied.

I am also a SAHM and just did the $200 offer using our household income and stating that I am a homemaker. Not only did I get approved, they gave me a higher limit than DH got when he opened his Disney Visa the month before!

edited to add: I also have another card with Chase (haven't used it in several months, but the account is open)

We got a similar offer addressed to "The Family" with my maiden name. I already have a Disney visa, but my DH has been waiting for this offer to apply for one. We both have more than one Chase account as well. Anyway, he called to see if the offer could be extended to him, with his different last name, and they did!

I applied with homemaker as my occupation and used our household income from DH's salary and our investments and was instantly approved. I already had 2 other Chase cards in my name and this made the 3rd. No problem. I have excellent credit.

If you do not have a credit card in your own name, you definitely should. If your DH were to die, you would no longer be able to use the cards in his name, even if you are an authorized user. You should always have at least one card of your own.

You should be fine... I got the Disney cc in just my name and I am a stay at home mom...they kindly even gave me a credit limit of 22000... NOW thats a disney vacation!:worship:

Me too. I was approved for a 2nd Chase card and got it in the mail in 10 days!

I do have credit cards in my name but Thanks for the reminder because I am sure there are women out there that don't...I think my MIL in one of those :confused3

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will give it a shot at applying myself and hopefully 200 gift card will be coming my way for our trip in september!

We just got this offer 2 months ago, sent to "xxxxxx family."

Some advice:

1.) You should apply on your own. They will ask for "household income" which will count your husband's income even though you are the applicant. This is not dishonest. They expect you to include the combined income of all earners in your household, regardless of who in the household is applying for the card.

2.) You can, separately, have your husband apply for his own card. He can do this even if he has another Chase card (or even if he has two). You can even do this if he already has another Disney Chase Card. (I found that the same promo code can be used by each member in the household, so long as you each have the same last name listed on the offer.)

Your success in getting the card will be completely dependent upon your household income, current debts, and credit history ... but there is a fairly good chance that you'll end up with $400 in Disney Dollars to spend on your next trip. (It worked for us!)

Congrats on receiving the offer! Count yourself as a lucky individual today.
