Disney VISA

Sorry Jack Jack you would also need a US Social Security number to apply for a US credit card.

I have had a few in the past too. Some of them don't mind if you don't live there... However... I, for one, don't like getting credit card bills AFTER the due date. :rotfl:

It is a problem sometimes...but I live 1/2hr from the border and I am usually there once a week or once every two weeks so it is not too bad. But sometimes, you only have a few days to pay. I usually put it on the card and make a payment right away. That way I still get the rewards of the card....;)

Most of the retail stores will give Canadians credit cards and most with their Canadian address - Kohl's, Target etc.

However, I'm not sure that VISA will give you a card without an established credit rating in the US and therefore you need a US social security number.
I've always been told that the Disney Visa require you reside in the US as well.

I never had the luck of getting my Victoria's Secret bill on time when I lived in Niagara Falls, Canada... I WISH I could have kept the card, but it was too much of a hassle. I would love if Disney would at least let us get one.

They told me last trip, I could if I had a U.S. address to mail it to.

You would be claiming to have a permanent address in the U.S. while actually living in Canada. Wouldn't that be considered fraud?

When my wife and I got married (I'm American, she's Canadian), she had a credit card that was issued in Canada. When we called the credit card issuer, to give them her new address in the U.S., we were told that she had to close the account since she was no longer living in Canada. I would imagine that it would work the same way for you.

The Chase rep on property at WDW said you need to have a permanent address in the US and a US social security number. Otherwise, you can't get the card.

Let's hope they have a Canadian version soon!

I don't know. Didn't bother to inquire further. I do have a US address that I have packages sent to. It is not my permanent address. I guess it would be considered fraud, if I claimed that it was my permanent address. I
already have a US Visa that they send the bill to my Canadian address, so I didn't bother with the Disney one. :)

It's worse than that ... I've tried ... my DH has a US social Security, a US address, but on top of that you need to work for a US company. My DH is a consultant for a global company, but technically his head office is Toronto, so that's a NO for the card. :sad2: They are REALLY picky!
