Disney Visa...Which Card Design Do You Have?

I took like 2 weeks to get my card from the initial approval.

I have a points question...
If you pay for your trip with this card, do you get the points immediately? Or are they pending until your trip, just in case you cancel?

I just filled out the application on-line for the tinker bell card. (They give you 40.00 credit).

Anyway.... anyone have any idea how long it will take to get?

We leave for our trip in two months will that be enough time to earn any rewards or anything? Just wondering.

Got my approved card within a week.....you don't get your points awarded to you until after the billing cycle.....so you're likely to only have one, maybe two billing cycles before you leave. Of course it depends on how much you charge too. You get 1 reward dollar for every 100 dollars spent. You need to have $20 in rewards before you can order a card (and you can order the card and have it issued to you right at Disneyworld). So...you'll need to charge $2,000 before your billing cycle before your trip closes.

So....it's probable that it won't be of much use reward wise for this trip....BUT.....don't forget to take the card with you to Epcot and do the VISA meet and greet. You get a free 5x7 print out, which is nice, but the best part is that it's a private meet and greet, your family, the characters, photopass photographer and handler are the only ones in the room. They don't try to shoo you through, so you get a LOT of time to play, dance, and be silly with the characters. If you also are buying the Photopass CD, they take a ton of photos, so the free print out is kinda "who cares", but the photos you get are grand.

And....use that card for everything you possibly can....my routine for several years was just to use the debit card for most things so it just came right out of the checking account and I was done with it, instead of charging it then paying the charge off each month. Now, because of those points, I charge everything on that card...utility bills, groceries, gas, restaurants, you name it if I can use a card I do. If there wasn't a fee to pay my mortgage with a credit card, I'd do that too, lol, but the fee the bank charges is higher than the rewards.

THE KEY of course, is that you need to pay off the credit card every month so that you don't end up paying finance charges that negate your rewards. Because we pay it off every month, we have an incredibly low interest rate, only 8.9%...but I recall a thread where people were talking about their VISA rate being in the 20s :scared1: .

Points aren't added to your account until after the billing cycle....so if you pay for your trip with the delay in payment, then it won't go on your billing cycle until the 6 months delay kicks it into your billing, so your rewards will go on after that delayed billing cycle.

DH and I have Bambi. It doesn't seem to be offered anymore. I LOVE it. I get so many positive comments about it. DH is an even bigger Disney-lover than I am and he likes carrying it too.

I have the sparkly red one with the faint Mickey outline - the original, I guess. It was just what they looked like when I got it, and I never bothered to change it when the options came out.

P.S. - I actually know someone who has "day one" instead of a date in the "member since" line.

I have this one too. We've been with Disney Visa for about 5 years and I have never been given an option, I would love to see the other options.

DH and I have the 50th Anniversary Castle. People love the thing! It has made many a grumpy retail clerk smile!

I have the red & grey Mickey Mouse. I love it! Can't wait to take my $250+ that I've earned to Disney this December and spend it all on my kids..... some on me too!!

I think they're immediate if you charge the entire balance.
I had a problem with reserving a preferred room at Allstar Sports. Six months after i had charged the balance on my card, i got a $100 refund so I had a -1 point balance.

I have Ariel :goodvibes It makes me happy just to see her hanging out in my wallet... someone mentioned that you get 1 rd for every $100 spent- are you sure?? In the past year, I've spent over $6000 (trying to rack up rd) but only have $62 rd?

I have Ariel on my card, but DH refuses to use his Ariel card, so I got Mickey and Friends for him.

we both have classic Mickey, but as a joke to DH I am going to switch his to Ariel...he has a thing for her since we went to Disney this month.:rotfl:

I have the same one. I am so bad everytime I use my card I justify it by saying I am making money for my disney trip. I am up to 98 rewards dollars!!

I think it depends on what you spend your $$$ on. Food, Gas, Air... I know thoes are big ones. Thats how I've gotten so much because I spent more than like... $900 in a 6 months span on the above things - I spent $1500 on air alone!!! I get 5x points on everthing - can't wait to see how much it is!!!!!

I guess I'm one of the few with the Bambi design. I'm also a charter card member. I signed up for it immediately. I wish it were permanent.
