We have our trip balance on our Disney Visa that will no longer be interest free as of March 1st.. can I take that total and transfer it to my Southwest card before the interest free period is up? Will the transfer count towards the $2000 I need to spend before my 3 months is up to get my free 50,000 points on the Southwest Visa? I've never transferred anything on credit cards... just wondering how this works.

Do you have a 0% balance transfer offer on the Southwest card? If not then, they will begin charging you interest from day one as well as a fee for the balance transfer.

Generally, balance transfers do not count towards the minimum needed to earn a bonus. You have to look at the T&C of your credit card offer to find out for sure.

No, you can't.

A) Both cards are distributed by Chase. You cannot do a balance transfer between two accounts with the same bank.

B) Balance transfers do not count toward your spending for bonuses. You have to actually make purchases totaling $2K.

I also have a Disney VISA interest question. My 6 month interest free expires in February 2013 from my september 2012 trip. Thought I would be able to pay it off by then but does not look like that will happen. I still continue to use the card for other stuff to get points, but pay that portion off every month. When they start charging interest in Feb for Disney trip, will I be charged interest on total balance every month or just the disney trip portion?

Once the promotional period is over, you will be charged your prevailing APR on the vacation balance AND any new charges. There's no grace period on interest when you carry a balance, so the interest will begin to accrue on all charges beginning with the day that your 0% promotional rate ends. Credit card companies can be very confusing when it comes to their promotional rates and terms. Check your copy of you Cardmember Agreement for the exact details.
