Disney VISA Rewards Redemption ?

We recently got, and have used, our Disney VISA. To use our points (all 25 of them ) during our Nov. trip, do I have to do something special? Seems to me I've read that people had to move the points somehow?

From what I understand about the Visa Reward Dollars, is you must call to transfer your rewards to a card. The card is similar to a gift card which you can then use for purchasing tickets/rooms/food etc. After you transfer your rewards, they expire after one year I believe. I hope this helps.

Yes, you must call for the first time since you need to request a gift card (not really a gift card but a reward card without any Visa logo in it) to be sent to you. After the first transfer, you can do it online every month or whenever you want it.

Your point will be in your Visa card until you transferred it to your gift card. You go to www.carmemberservices.com to sign up for online viewing for your Visa and Reward card.

I just got my reward points in the mail yesterday. I filled out the form on line and it took about ten days to arrive. So if your not going until Nov. I would wait until the trip is 2 or 3 weeks away before ordering you points card.

Once you have received the rewards card, you can download any newly accumulated reward dollars instantly from the website (under "manage rewards"). We had a card with about $4 remaining on it and added the $64 we had since accumulated with the click of a mouse!

I disagree with LUVTGR. There is no need to wait until November to order you card. Order it now* and right before your trip, transfer over any additional points you've accumulated. This way you avoid the "where is it? why isn't it here? is it lost in the mail? did I wait too long and I'm leaving soon but don't have the silly card yet" anxieties.

* My understanding is: the points aren't posted to your account until the "statement" closes. So if you've just made your first purchase with your Disney VISA, you have to wait until your statement drops to be able to access your 25 point bonus.

At first we had our money transferred 2 weeks ago. When we received our bill last week I had additional 37 dollars added on.
Now we have 445.00 worth of disney money for our trip in 2 days!!. The thing to point out is that once the money is transferred to you , it expires one year from that date.
We charge everything, but pay it within the month. I just don't carry around that much cash with me.

If you order your card now, I would recommend leaving $10 untransferred. That way, you will be able to transfer all the DDRDs that you earn between now and vacation time. You need to transfer at least $10 and this ensures that you have that amount in there.
