Disney Visa Rewards Points

5 years ago my husband was unable to use it to buy cotton candy in DL. Not sure how it is with the cart vendors (churros?) now.

You will need to explore the provided link further to get the list of specific restaurants that participate; not all do, and none of the cart vendors do. Here is the current list....

* Redd Rockett's Pizza Port
* Café Orleans
* Blue Ribbon Bakery
* Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor

Disney's California Adventure® Park

* Ariel's Grotto
* Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
* Taste Pilots' Grill
* Schmoozie's

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa

To take the OP's question one step further.....say I have 200 points to redeem, & we dine at a restaurant such as Wine Country Trattoria, which offers a discount to Disney Visa cardholders. Can I still get the discount if I am not actually paying with the Disney Visa CREDIT card? Has anyone done this? I'm thinking of using our points towards a WOC dining package in November, but will spend the points on something else we had planned if the dining discount will be lost.

Oohhhh good point -- this is what I'm planning to do in 2 weeks when we go! maybe I'll have to see if I can put the $200 towards Plaza Inn w/ Minnie & Friends to insure I get my 10% off at WCT for our WOC package!

Unless something has recently changed, we have been able to use our Disney Visa Rewards almost everywhere (except vendor carts).

In the past, we have been able to combine the discount w/using the rewards card depending on the CM. Some have said no, others have done it. I would definitely ask!

Ah, I think I found the answer about the 10% discount hidden in the depths of the website....

"Offer excludes alcoholic beverages, merchandise, tax and gratuity. Must use your valid Disney Rewards Visa Credit Card, Disney Rewards Visa® Debit Card, or Disney Rewards Redemption Card at time of purchase. Discount valid at the following restaurant locations: in Disneyland® Park: Rancho del Zocalo, Carnation Cafe and Redd Rockett's Pizza Port; in Disney's California Adventure® Park: Pizza Oom Mow Mow, and Wine Country Trattoria; at Disneyland® Resort Hotels: Steakhouse 55 (from 6:00pm - 10pm only) and Disney's PCH Grill. Subject to restaurant operating hours and restaurant closures. Restaurant seating is subject to availability."

So yes, the discount SHOULD be available when used with the the Rewards Redemption card. I think I'll be printing out the info to take along....just in case.

You can use your rewards card anywhere that accepts credit cards. This leaves out a lot of the mobile food vender (churros, ice cream, popcorn etc).

In my experience, the only place that would not accept it (besides cart vendors) was Compass Books and Cafe in Downtown Disney.

I used them at vending carts with no problems. They have card readers and take gift cards, etc. You can at least try and maybe I have just been lucky and hit the ones that take the card.:confused3

The store must be Disney owned. The World of Disney Store and Marcelline's Bakery are the only stores in Downtown Disney that accept the Disney Rewards card.

Can't confirm this for DLR but at WDW we've always charged everything to our room then used our Disney Visa Reward Points Card to pay the balance on our room charges bill at the front desk the last day of the trip.

This might be a way around limitations - assuming the exceptions accept a room charge for payment.

When I booked the WOC dinner at Wine Country, the CM mentioned the discount after I mentioned using my rewards card
