We are going to WDW Feb. 19. When should I order my Disney Rewards card?

What is the transfer increment -- $20?

Can the money be used to pay for hotel stay, and if so, can I call and do it ahead of time, or do I do it when we arrive?

I can answer part of your ? as a fellow card holder...the lady I spoke with last month about redeeming our rewards said once I request to cash in my rewards it takes about 2-4 weeks to get them in the mail. We would used them for meals, so I would assume we'd get them in Disney Dollars? I wish they would tell you more when you get your card. I've read over everything we received and it doesn't say much.

We used one reward card of $100 for souvenirs and sundries with no problems at all. I have been a card member since it began and had some of the old paper certificates that they first issued before the reward cards. I used the $60 in these to deduct from BCV charges. You certainly can pay for hotel with it. I currently have $580 for our next trip in June. Just be aware, when you redeem them, they will have an expiration date on them. Have fun.

The Rewards Card tales approximately 14 days to arrive once you order it. You can order "rush" shipping for a fee, and it will arrive in about 3 business days. The Rewards Card looks like a gift card. You can use it just about anywhere in WDW that would take Disney Dollars. That would include your Disney Resort. You would pay on you room with the card just like you would with a credit card. Just let the CM know that you'll be paying with your Disney Rewards card when you phone.

When you order your first Rewards Card, you must have at least $20 in rewards dollars saved. After that, you can transfer more rewards dollars to that same card as long as you have a minimum of $10 in rewards money to transfer. The transfer to the card is immediate.

A new billing cycle will occur on the last day of my trip. Can I call the number on the card and have them transferred immediately, or is the on site location Guest Services at DTD?

You can call them from (I believe) Guest Relations in DtD or from any phone. I had my laptop with me on vacation last year and I just did the transfer online. Make sure that you leave at least $10 in your account now so that you will be able to transfer it all on that last day. You must transfer a minimum of $10 and if there's only $8 in rewards in your account, you won't be able to move it.

The rewards may not be there on the day of the billing cycle. I watch my account and I see that despite the billing cycle occurring, it sometimes takes a day or 2 for the rewards to be posted. Not sure if they are available through the phone. I really only do my banking online so I don't know.
