Hello out there!

I was wondering, do you earn Disney Reward Dollars on your vacation package purchase when you buy it on your Disney Visa through the Disney Travel Company? Or is it "exempt" from earning the reward dollars? Just booked my package last week and am trying to figure out how many reward dollars I'll have by the time I go...

Also, I know this question has been asked before, but I'll ask it again... How do you get the reward dollars? I've heard something about a card... Do you call and request the card after you earn your first $25 and then once you have it you can "fill" the card online or over the phone (and it doesn't have to be in $25 increments?)?

Thanks!! :teeth:

HI~

First off lets see what I can answer for you:

1) Disney package are not exempt and you should earn at least 1% or more if you have a special offer with double points and whatnot going on your account). Plus you will receive 0% APR for 6 months after your trip posts to your account. Your trip must be paid 100% on your visa to qualify for 0%. Keep with them "if" they charge you interest on the trip (they did that to me and I finally got it straightened out and am now in my last statement of 0% so it does work)

2) You can register for Online access and then you can view your membership rewards dollars and manage them there.

After you accumulate $20 you may then request a card.

*** CARDS EXPIRE at the end of the calandar year you are requesting them, or soon after. So don't request until you are sure you will be using them in that Calandar year

After you have a card activated, you may then add dollars to it at $10 or above increments at a time.

As you stated they can be added over the phone or online it doesn't matter.

Please be advised that it can take up to 2 weeks before you initally receive your card in the mail the first time. After that, it is pretty my instanteous to get the other $$'s transfered to the card.

Thanks for all the info!!

I'm very excited! By my calcluations, I should have about $90 to use on our trip in December. I'm really impressed! I've only been using the card since the end of May!

Yay! :teeth:

Thanks again!!

You can pick one up at Guest Services at Downtown Disney and activate it with a phone call. This comes in handy if someone is worried that they won't get it in time for a trip.

I picked one up last month and it doesn't expire until 12/05. I'd left mine at home so I got another one and they tranferred the dollars to the new card from the old one.

arminnie - BEST PICTURE EVER!!! LOVE IT!!! I'm JEALOUS!!!!
Went to the Inauguration - WONDERFUL!! Horrible weather - BUT WONDERFUL!!!! What a GREAT President! I know, not all agree. That's what makes us a GREAT NATION!!

Okay, now to my relevant post... Do the reward dollars acrue year to year, or do you have to spend them before the calendar year is up? I would think they acrue, but need to make sure.
Thanks for posting this - seems DVC is a hot topic lately.

thanks momlovesdad.

You can let them accrue. They say that if you transfer them to a card and don't spend them then those points will expire at the expiration date of the card.

I had no problem transferring my reward points to a new card since I'd lost my first one so I don't think you'd ever have to let them expire.

I meant to use mine to pay against my bill when I checked out but they did an express checkout so I still have some left for my trip this fall.

arminnie - love the picture as well!! What a man of character and class.
Back to the thread, of course, in the mail today, I get an offer to double my points on purchases for the next 6 months, but we leave next month, could've used it earlier. But I did get credit for our package and used the card for 3 or 4 months and will have about $100 to take along. Not too shabby!
