A few days ago, we became DVC owners by purchasing a 160 point contract at AKV. Our guide Michelle was very helpful, and I believe tips that I read on the DISBoards were very helpful getting through the process and feeling comfortable about it. We got in on a couple incentives, the Disney Visa offer was one of them. Michelle said that it takes 2-3 months after closing to receive the gift card.

I will paste some of the fine print text of an email advertisement that I received titled "500 Bonus Rewards Offer just for Disney Rewards Visa Cardmembers". Hope this answers your questions.

Umm I think you just have to buy with 160 or more points..I don't remember seeing anything about the 10% down.

Where are you supposed to submit this to or call? I never received the email even though I've had the card for a couple of years and bought DVC recently.

Wooohooo! That just adds to the sweetness of a great deal, doesnt it?

You only have to put the 10% down payment on your Disney Visa so even if you were planning on paying in full it would be worthwhile to go ahead and do the financing and put your downpayment on the visa then just pay it off.

If you've already purchased and did not receive the promotion give your guide a call they have to submit the information for the promo.

Is there a start date for this? We purchased 160 points in late March 2008 and wonder if we might qualify? We've had the card for a few years.

We purchased in mid-May. We're waiting to hear back from our guide as to whether or not we will qualify.

March may be a bit of a stretch but you could always ask. I believe the promotion actually became "live" on June 19th I believe the reason that we qualified is because our actual closing date will be after the promotion began.

Our estimated closing date was June 21. When I called to inquire about the promo I was told that our contract actually closed May 27, so it went through WAY faster than they thought it would. I guess if we had taken our time getting the documents back to DVC maybe we wouldn't already be finished with closing. That will probably come back to haunt me.

Darn it! I just bought a 100 point membership and AKV and charged the down payment to my disney visa. Its a bummer we dont get anything for 100 points purchase . At least $300 disney rewards would be nice!

I bought last weekend so do I qualify? I put our down payment on my Disney Visa? I know I will get the points for the down payment but an extra 500 would be great! Where can I call to find out if I qualify? Should i call my visa or my guide? I believe my close date is July 23.

Ok I just called and I guess i do qualify!
They said it will take a few months to process and it doesn't matter what resort you buy into.

I called today, and while my guide has not called me back with an absolute answer, the person whom I spoke with said if I received the $500 Visa gift card offer when we purchased in Mid-May (which we did) that I most likely did not qualify for the Disney Visa Reward points, even though I met all of the other criteria. I am not trying to double-dip, but I would think that the two would be exclusive to each other, as those who did not use a Disney Visa also got the $500 gift card. Oh, well

If anyone does get both deals, please let me know!

Call your guide!!!! He got back to me today...they are going to want to know your 8 digit rewards card number...not the 16 digit number on the card,the 8 digit number in your monthly statement.

You will see your points on your card after 2 billing cycles....thank God that will be in September so I get to use my points for our October trip..I will be using them towards my christmas tree decorations in the christmas shoppe in DTD...Some of them not the whole 500,well you never know with me lol.

One thing if you get the disney rewards points, you have to have the Disney reward card number to go on the contract.

I have had my Disney Visa for a while but never ordered a Reward card. Now it will take until July 7 for the card to get here. In the meantime I could be waitlisted for Aug 07 points at AK but I can't even start the contract iwthout the number unless I want to give up the points.

At least I will have it for the future.
