Okay, I've searched the boards, and I can't find my answer, so I'm going to put to you all (the experts)!

We have booked a 1/30/05 4-day cruise on the Wonder on our Disney Visa. They have extended their $50 on-board credit through 2005, and we are taking some people with us from Florida.

The travel agent keeps telling me different things....so I'm trying to find out if any of you Florida residents have ever been in this situation. Can I use the FL resident discount with the on-board credit?

At one point, the travel agent told us Disney told her we COULD use the Visa on-board credit with the FL resident rate, but today, I got an e-mail from her saying we couldn't use both.

If you've tried this before, please post a reply and let me know what happened so I kind of have a heads up! Thanks!

I think it works like this (at least this is what I was told by a TA when I tried to book an AP discount/special cruise and an onboard credit offer). Each of these promos have a special 3 letter code attached to them, like XYZ, or JKL. There is only one place on the reservation system to insert a code, so you can only use one. Plus, most of these things read in the fine print "cannot be combined with any other offer, discount or promotion," or whatever legal-ese they want to use.

So we were told that there was no way to use both, so choose the better deal. I'd have your TA price it out with just the resident discount and then with just the onboard credit offer. Whichever nets you the better deal, I'd go with that. Because if you book with both, Disney will either choose whichever is most advantageous to them and give you that rate or give you no promotional rates at all (again, this is what I was told). HTH

Im not sure. I was happy to change to the fla rate since it upgraded us and saved me over $700. I'll take that over $50 any day. ;)

Thanks for the tips! My TA gave me the same info about the codes after I posted, and I agree--I'll take the discount over the on-board credit any day!

Besides that, I've got plenty of Reward Dollars from my Visa, so I guess it all worked out in the end! :)

Thanks again for the info!

No, only one discount applies.

We did a FL resident rate in September and booked through DCL -- the CM laughed and said, "At this rate, you definitely want the FL resident rate instead of the $50 credit."

If you look at the fine print, it does say that it can't be combined with other offers.
