Disney Visa gift card question

I got an offer in the mail for a $200 gift card when I open a Disney Visa. We did that and got our gift card quickly. It was for the Disney Rewards card, not the premier card so there isn't an annual fee and we earn 1% on all purchases. I was thinking, can I also open a Disney Premier card and get another $200 gift card? That one has a $49 annual fee and earns 2% on gas, groceries and restaurants. I would cancel that one after a few months since I don't want to continue to pay the annual fee, but I want the gift card. Is that possible?

Is the premier currently still offering the $200 GC? Then yes you should be able to do that. But you would take an extra hit on your credit for the 2nd inquiry so hopefully you're not looking to buy a house or take a loan on a car anytime soon. If it was me and I did open the premier card as well, I would keep using that to get the 2% (assuming you don't have another card with better rewards) and cancel it before they charge the fee again.

They are still offering it. If I do it, I was planning on using that card until or trip this summer or shortly thereafter, then switch back to our Southwest card. The Southwest card has better rewards. We already bought a house and car in the past year so I won't be doing that again anytime soon!
