Not really having a credit card I decided to apply for a Disney Visa Card for when I go on my Disney vacation in about two years. I decided that since I wanted to use my KTTW card to pay for almost everything it might just be easier that way.

That is, until I saw that I only have a $400 credit line. :lmao: :rotfl: Seriously! That isn't even going to cover my rooms! Later on can I ask for a limit increase, or am I "set" for life? I plan on doing some HEAVY shopping at Disney, and that $400 just is not going to cut it!

This is your first credit card of any kind? If so perhaps this why you have such a small limit. Also perhaps your income to debt ratio is high.

Not my first credit card at all. :confused3 My discover used to have a much, much higher limit. Could canceling a card I wasn't really using have had an impact on it?

Do you have other Chase credit cards? You may have reached a point where they feel you have enough credit extended with them.

I was in the process of checking out at Disney Store Online (I did a search for Halloween and found the super cute Minnie Mouse witch hat I have been wanting for FOREVER) and it says down at the bottom that the $400 is an initial credit limit. So maybe that means the limit will go up.

You will not be "stuck". You have two years to get the limit up. Just use the card, pay it off every month, and request a limit raise every 6 months. You may not even need to request - they typically raise the limit over time anyway.

Ok you didn't say that, if you applied during checkout that $400 is what you can use until your card arrives. You can call Chase to find out what your total limit is.

Sorry. I didn't see it myself until I was in the checkout. If I hadn't decided to buy something I probably wouldn't have even known until I got the card. It was in tiny print towards the bottom of the screen!
