Hi All!
Besides the current discount for two days (WOW! TWO WHOLE DAYS!) over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, any word IF Disney Visa Card holders could receive off season mid-winter discounts at resorts as in years past? Or, is this just another way that they are making up money from Covid shutdowns?

WDW hasn't really been offering much in the way of resort/package promotions to anybody (and the few that are out there can be hard to find rooms available). What may come mid-winter or spring is anyone's guess. As long as the resorts continue to be booked, they have no incentive to offer discounts.

I'd really love a discount. We are paying $4k for a family of four for four days at Port Orleans in March. And that's before flights, food and souvenirs. That seems ridiculously expensive to me, and I wouldn't do it if it wasn't a Christmas/birthday gift for the kids.

Sounds like you might be better off renting DVC points -have you looked into that?

If i wanted to rent DVC points what's the best way to go about it? We've never done this before--always traveled when Disney offered a discount--and anything I need to know about before I take this step?

Know that it's non-refundable. At this late date, you would likely be looking for a confirmed/dedicated reservation so check confirmed reservations from all rental brokers.

Does the $4K cover tickets? And how many nights?

Oh and a studio and one bedroom gets you one queen bed and one sofa bed. Some studios have an extra twin-size Murphy bed too.
Most 7 nights at a studio in March are $4K per confirmed DVC reservations listings that I've looked at.

Like Starry mentioned, canceling can cause issues -dvc rental store offers a cancellation policy. So if you were to cancel 120 days prior you'd get your money back, 60-days you'd get maybe 75% and so on. Which is better than nothing. They are partnered with Disboards so they are very reliable.

Also, you can rent points directly through DVC Members like myself. Get a contract and ask for references ...and use a transfer company like PayPal.

You aren't going to find four consecutive nights in a DVC studio anywhere in March unless it's a confirmed reservation that someone booked a while ago---and those are likely to be priced in a way that isn't going to save you much.

Even if you got a reservation at "market rate" you wouldn't be saving *that* much. A weekday studio at e.g. Saratoga would be $270-$300/night in most of March. Weekends (Fri/Sat) are another $50-$60. In exchange, your reservation is (usually) fully non-refundable. Every little bit helps, but DVC rentals are not a panacea.

Brian is correct -you won't find anything in March. A few months ago possibly, but the closer you get the less availability there is.
