I have the standard Visa and never use it for purchases as I have much better cards for daily spending.

With that being said I did use it earlier this year when I received two different emails to activate 5% cash back on certain things (Think Chase Freedom/Discover)

The last offer was emailed in May 2021 for an offer that expired in August.

I was curious if anyone had received any offers lately as I was trying to increase my Disney Dollars to use to pay towards my DVC annual dues.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I never get the 5% offers -- I think those are targeted offers to get people to use the card.

I use my card all of the time and do get the 5% offers.
They are usually time limited as showed in the above offer.
I usually get them once a year, not sure if others are offered it more often.

Thanks for the updates folks. I was afraid I had missed some opportunities but apparently they are very rare.

I'm a day one Disney Visa cardholder. I haven't received any extra% in over 10 years.
I've received an email for the bonus cats, maybe once... all the times I had the bonus cats was checking through the mybonus link - for any of my chase cards. I check every month or so just to be sure I'm not missing anything. I noticed they were a lot more frequent during lockdown.

I receive offers frequently. It’s the actual additional points that I should have earned that I never get. Still fighting with Chase over the bonus points we were supposed to receive from our last Disneyland stay.

That was me too, I'd never get those 5% offers either and I too thought that those were target offers for people not using the card and hook them (and maybe it is true in the great majority xD) BUT this one time I was talking about this with my bank teller and she told me that it also has to do with how you do your online purchases because of your IP address...... I've never been a IT person so I didn't understand much of the logic behind it but bottom line is that she recommended me to use a VPN and whenever I was about to make a purchase online I'd have to turn it on and connect me as if I was in another physical location (i.e. if you are in Seattle then connect from a Buffalo servers)......... something about the logarithm activates and you start getting different offers from credit cards including the 5% ones.

For me it took me around a few weeks (mind everyone has a different online purchase activities) but you get the idea. At that point I had already in mind the idea to get a VPN, I had always heard that you could use it to unblock content not available in your country (like videos) mainly from streaming services. Normally I would turn the VPN on and watch Nnetflix content from Canada hehe... and a few days ago I subscribed to this site "StudyPug" using a Canadian server too and I got to pay a lower fee from there.

Anyways, try it and see if it helps you, I'd recommend anyone to get a VPN these days anyhow.

Happy holidays!

I haven't received a 5% offer in years either...pretty much only the first couple of years after I got the card.

I used my Disney card last month to get the 10% discount on a small purchase at ShopDisney since they still do not give AP or DVC discounts and received this today.

I will be using this for Restaurants and Amazon as I will not be able to maxing out the 5% on groceries since between myself and SO we have 5 cards getting 5% back until March 30th.

Hopefully others will be pixie dusted with this offer as well!!

I received this offer last week. It's for my standard card/no fee. I barely use it.

The offer is for restaurants, grocery and Amazon orders.

I went to the grocery store a few days ago and already forgot to use this specific card :(

Will have to remember. Wish gas was included.

Yea that is easy to do. I'm in the same boat and very rarely use it. Certain groceries stores sell gift cards for gas stations so you could use it that way. I just set it as the default payment for Amazon myself and will replace it as soon as I hit the $1,500 maximum between Amazon and Restaurants.

Not a bad idea buying gas gift cards at the supermarket if there are no fees attached to it.

Grocery shopping yesterday - definitely used the one for 5% back :)
Going out to eat Friday with the family - will try to remember!!!!!

Usually these credit card bonus offers exclude gift card purchases at supermarkets.

I got this offer too...we will see whether it works (or not). I already forgot to use it yesterday, oops...

YMMV but I have never had a problem with chase cards (which the disney one is) using it at Krogers for bonus % back or "Chase Offers" to get Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Shell, BP and of course Disney Gift Cards. Kroger family stores always give 2x fuel points on gift card purchases but sometimes they will offer 4x so I will save on gas that way filling up at Kroger gas stations. I have purchased the Shell & BP when I am traveling and know there will not be a kroger gas station to take advantage of though.

Agree. I buy gift cards for Chase offers and my American Express card that gives 6% on groceries. Grocery stores generally do not report what you buy to the credit card companies (some other stores do) so they don’t know you bought gift cards.
