Has anyone taken advantage of the Disney Visa benefits at DL? How about the character meet-n-greet? How bad were the crowds for the photo?

Thanks....

Go check out this thread.
It was very painless and I think a great perk.
I've used it both at DL and WDW. Hopefully they'll continue this perk for awhile... :)

oh btw, I came in about half hour after the park opens on satursday and there was only 1 group ahead of me.

We took advantage twice at DCA recently and it couldn't have been easier. Just go to Ariels Grotto at DCA between 10:00 and 11:30 and they will lead you downstairs where the characters are. The first day they had Chip and Dale, the second day Mickey and Goofy. When you are finished they give you a vocher for the free photo to use when you pay for the photo in the pick up areas.

If you have other photos taken that day in the park you can use the voucher for those instead. We didn't like the photos with Chip and Dale so we got the one taken in front of ToT. Great perk since the photos are usually $12.50.

We did this pics in June and it was almost empty when we went, only 1 other family. There was Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale. And remember if you and your DH both have a card you can get 2 free pics! And you can also go each day you're there, so that can equal quite a few free pics. We also did the free stroller rental, even though my youngest usually doesn't use a stroller it was nice to have it to carry all the stuff and when she did get tired we could put her in.

We have done this 3 X so far and never waited at all. In fact we were usually the only ones here taking photos. They took several of us (kids together, entire family) and gave us the vouchers. We picked the photos up later in the day. Once we used the voucher for another photo taken inside the park but the past two time (it was mid week) there were no other photographers anywhere. We settled on the photo from Ariels Grotto. Great value for having a Disney card. Have not used the card for any other perks though.

and 20% off select tours.

You also can get 2 free stroller rentals per day. You just go to the stroller rental area and show them your visa and they'll give you the free strollers.

It doesn't hurt to bring the little Disney Visa benefits booklet for Disneyland that you might have received in the mail or print the benefits out if they are listed on the Disney Visa site.

My family and I ate at the sourdough bread bowl place (can't remember the name right now...Boudin Bakery?) at DCA, and you are supposed to get 10% off there. The gal apologized and said the deal had just expired on the 1st.

Well, it DOES expire on October 1st in 2006; we had to show our receipt & booklet to the manager, and we did eventually get the 10% off our meal. Thank goodness we brought along the booklet!

We were at DL/DCA from Oct. 12-16. We took advantage of the free photos courtesy of Visa. At 10:00am they have Mickey and Goofy. At 10:30am its Chip and Dale. At 11:00am it is Mickey and Goofy again. The CM told us that this is the standard daily.

The benefit I use the most is getting 4 free movie tickets when a new Disney movie comes out. For example, Chicken Little comes out in a couple of weeks and they had the information on the website to email for the free tickets. They only take a certain number of requests for each city. I have never not gotten them.

I have never heard of this. Tell me more details, where do you go to get them?

You can go online to the credit card website (http://online.firstusa.com/) and look at the pull down menu to the right of the card. There should be one that says View Current Offers. There are many listed; to see the movie benefit, go to View Current Offers, then Disney Entertainment. It's listed there. The Chicken Little tickets are all gone, the have a limited number of tickets for each city. If you're close to or in a large city, it should be there. I'm hoping that Narnia shows up on there.
