Disney Visa Approval?

I received an offer for a Disney Visa that seemed really good: $200 gift card after $500 in purchases and then $50 gift card if you add an authorized user. Hubby and I decided that he'd apply and add me as the user. (I stay at home with our kids so I was nervous about applying for a card with no income).

He applied online and was told they'd let him know if he was approved. That was at least a week ago and still no word. So I'm poking around online today for an explanation and seeing that people are suspecting that Chase doesn't approve people with excellent credit (which we both have) and who pay off their cards every month (which we always do).

Then why send us an offer?? How long have people waited for approval and still gotten approved? I'm annoyed that hubby may have gotten a minor dent in his score due to a credit check only to be rejected because his credit is too good?

Mods: feel free to move if this is on the wrong board!

I would have him call to check on it. Then they can tell him if there's a problem or get it sorted out. We each have a Chase card in this household (one Disney, one Southwest), and we both have very good credit and pay everything off right away.

Good idea!

We both already have Chase cards too. I assumed that would help him get approved but I wonder if that's the issue...

I stay at home and have no income, but the little side note ( you can click it right by the box for income)said I could include All household income. So I did and got approved instantly. So if he gets declined, try it yourself, including his income.

I would call and check- I just applied for a Disney Visa (not the premier since I have a different card I prefer to use for gas/groceries/etc so it didn't make sense to go with that one) and it was a pretty quick process.

The other card I typically use is also a Chase card, and we pay off all cc balances every month. We have great credit, I am a stay at home mom and applied in my name though I think they just ask for household income.

On a side note, I like that this card now appears when I log into my bank account, just below my other Chase card. Love having it all in one place and it makes paying the bill off really simple!

I applied for and was instantly approved for the basic Disney card. The one without the fee. I also have excellent credit and pay everything right off. I would call.

Also, the applications always ask for household income so you can list your DH's income. I cut my hours when we had our first so my DH makes a lot more then me. When I apply for a card, I list our combined income instead of my small income.

I applied for a Marriott Chase on 2/11 and no word either for me this past weekend, so I called and no one had even looked at it yet, but the analyst was able to approve my application then. I used the phone number from this article. http://therewardboss.com/chase-application-status-check-reconsideration-phone/

I was approved instantly for the Marriott card on the 17th. Still haven't received the card. I contacted Chase on Friday and on Monday was told it was sent out on the 24th (Really? A week after approval?) and it STILL isn't here. Hope it's a better turnaround time for you!

Out of curiousity - was this offer for the $49 Annual Fee card or the No Annual Fee card? I haven't seen the $200 offer on the No-Fee since November; we've been waiting to open it to see if it re-appears.

I have only seen the $200 offer on the card with the annual fee. The card without the annual fee is a $50 statement credit after your first purchase. I had my credit about a week after I made a purchase.

It was the no fee! That's why we decided to bite!!

Update: we got a letter today. Apparently because the offer came to the MY LAST NAME family and hubby has a different name, Chase substituted my last name for his on the application to create a person who doesn't exist. So I assume if he calls to clear that up, he should be approved right away.

you might want to just put it under your name to get the offer. I was told the offer was only good for the person it was sent to. things may have changed since oct though

Well it was sent to LAST NAME family which certainly includes my hubby! I think it just came in my name because I had done all the booking in our recent vacation.

I'll certainly keep it in mind though especially now knowing that my 0 income won't hurt me!

Glad to hear that the $200 is being offered on the no-fee card! Did you, by chance, request a Vacation Planning DVD recently? I think that's what prompted our offer.

We just got back from a trip in February which is I'm assuming why we got it

It took a few weeks for me to get mine. So one week passed does not mean yes or no. I think I waited 3 or 4, not totally sure, but it was long enough that I assumed I got declined.
