Is only if you order through them. If I get my package through Costco.com and use my Disney visa will I get the six months interest free?

Yes, you should. I believe that Costco books through WDTC. I recently booked a AAA trip on my Disney Visa, and both the deposit and final payment show as a "qualified promotion" with 0% interest for 6 months on my next statement. Plus, the Disney reward $s become available right away. My AAA agent mentioned that I was paying with my Disney Visa when he made the payment, but they would know from the Visa number.

I dont know about the visa, but I do know that Costco uses WDTC. In fact the number you call to make changes or pay, once you've made the reservation (which I did online) is directly to the Disney people down in Anaheim...they answer their phone Costco reservations (or something like that), but will quickly verify that they are Disney employees if the conversation swings around that way.

Oh, and if you ever have the chance to check out prices through Disneyland.com, aaa.com, and costco.com all in a row, you'll see that they are the same website, just with different 'brand names' on it. :)

Just saying that it's all officially and through WDTC when it comes right down to it.

The offer of 0% interest is offered by the bank (Chase I think) that issues the credit card and isn't related to the WDTC. I got a Disney Visa prior to my trip to Disneyland but did not use it to pay for my package vacation (because I had already booked the trip before I got the card). I did get the 0% on all purchases made with my card the first six months so it should apply to anything you purchase through Costco (or anywhere) whether it's a Disneyland vacation or your groceries.

What moko describes may be a different benefit for new card holders. The 6 month no interest for Disney vacations applies regardless of how long you have held the credit card.
Here's what their web site says:

http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/cardbenefits/index.html

"0% APR vacation financing for 6 months from the date of purchase on select Walt Disney World® and Disneyland® Resorts vacation packages, all Disney Cruise Line® packages and Adventures by Disney packages when you pay with your Disney Rewards Visa Card. You can take advantage of this anytime you travel when you or your travel agent book through the Walt Disney Travel Company and purchase a ticket inclusive Disney vacation package."

Since Costco books through WDTC, and assuming you are purchasing a package which includes parkhopper tickets, you should get this benefit.

another point, when we book WDW travel packages through WDTC, we sometimes get them to do air if the price is right and this also qualifies for the 6 months free interest when we use the Disney Visa. Never do the airfare when going to DL.

Also we have done it through Costco, AAA and direct to WDTC and all have qualified for free interest for both WDW and Disneyland.

Just wanted to add that YES it should work for you. When we booked last summer we had the 6 month interest thing when we booked through Costco. Just a side note, it won't work with Getawaytoday if anyone wondered about that.

Hope that helped!

So you can also use your Disney Visa for packages booked through AAA and get the 6 months free interest too?

Just a bit of a warning on the 6 month 0% financing. If you are in the habit of paying your credit card balance in full to avoid finance charges you may run into problems with this offer.

My example. I made charges for $7,076.54 in the same statement period I paid for my qualifying Disney Vacation Package with my Disney Visa. I assumed I should be able to pay my balance in full less the $1,907.64 charge for our Disney Vacation and receive up to 6 months of 0% APR for that amount of my balance. In my opinion that is the only way to honor the offer as represented in the advertising materials.

But according to a Chase representative when I asked about this:

:sad1: Payments are applied to balances with lower APRs before balances with higher APRs. unpaid finance charges and fees associated with each balance type are generally paid first. We then allocate any remaining payment amount to the principal balances beginning with lower-APR balances and ending with higher-APR balances. Payments are generally applied last to standard cash advance balances.:sad2:

The net is paying all of my other balances results in me having $1,907.64 on my Disney Visa Card with the highest rate of interest possible being charged to me by Chase. (Because Chase has decided to pay down my 0% vacation balance first :headache: )

I'm definitely not feeling the magic.

I think the agent is feeding you some wrong info. It definitely did not work like that for me. I booked a package a couple of years ago, and never paid a cent in interest by paying off my other charges each month while spreading payments for the vacation over 6 months. I recently booked another trip, and was not charged any interest last month when I made a payment that covered all my charges except for the "promotional balance". Feel the magic; I feel confident that it works the way it should.
