Hi everyone, I was thinking about applying for a Disney Visa card to take advantage of the 0% for 6 months financing for our trip in May. Do I have to use the card when I book the packages, or can I still get the financing if I use cash for the deposit and then pay the balance with the card?

yes, you may use cash for part and use the Disney Visa for the balance. I believe there is a minimum charge of $100 to receive the 0% financing, and it must be towards a vacation package (not room only, tickets only, etc.). But you can make multiple payments on the Disney Visa and get 0% financing on each -- for example pay cash for the initial deposit now, next month make a payment of $1000 on the Visa and get 0% interest, then in January make another $1000 payment on the Visa, etc.

Enjoy your vacation!

I wouldn't get it for that reason. If something comes up and you can't pay it off, you will get hit with crazy interest. We payed all our cards off and haven't had one in over 10 years. If we can't pay cash we don't need it.

You can just use it to pay off the balance right before the trip.

Keep in mind- this does not apply if you get certain details from a travel agent. We couldn't use the 0% offer for our trip.

That is exactly what I do. I pay $500 at a time on my card and then do sort of a rolling 6 months until I make the final payment 45 days before the trip. I always pay it off before the 6 months is up.

Can you use Disney Gift Cards to make payments toward the
WDW package you charged to your Disney Visa?
I'm thinking probably NO but it can't hurt to ask.

Chase does not accept GCs as a form of payment. Cash only (via check, electronic balance transfer, etc).

I would never advise anyone to finance a vacation, unless you are paying it off BEFORE going.

I figured as much but thought just MAYBE some pixiedust was involved and since it is a Chase DISNEY Visa, maybe the Disney GC were allowed.
