Hi.

How come on ebay there are Disney VHS movies being sold for thousands of dollars
and then I see the same movie being sold for $8? What is the difference for instance when
I see Beauty and the Best being sold for $8,000 and again for $5?

Thank you.

Do any actually sell for that price? Or is that the list/asking price?

There was an “article” a few months back about “rare” versions selling for big bucks. I think it was just a scheme to run up prices so someone could make money.

How many people perceive that their junk/stuff is worth thousands of dollars, when in reality they are worth mere dollars if anything? They can price it however they want, whether or not someone will buy at that price is another story.

All I can think of is maybe it is one of the original copies with controversial cover art.
Otherwise I can't imagine why anyone would think to list a VHS for so much

Disney stuff amazes me. "Song of the South" apparently had never been released in the U.S. on home video, but at the State Fair, one Vendor had Blue Ray, DVD and VHS versions for sale.

I was so excited when I saw an article online about Disney VHS being worth thousands years ago. I grabbed my box of Disney VHS, most Black Diamond edition and thought wow, I'm going to fund my next Disney trip in selling these! What I found was people are listing for the crazy price (both on Amazon and ebay but in reality they aren't going high. Key is to search completed listings for ones that have actually sold. It doesn't matter when someone is asking for the movie, it's what someone is actually able to sell it for. I think with mine I had one that sold for close to $50 everything else was under $10 and I had some that were listed as asking over $1k on Amazon.
