Hello again...I am trying to figure out the best plan of attack for my upcoming trips. We are all set for May so I don't need to do anything there. I am trying to plan a quick get-away in October for our 1st wedding anniversary...I think only Cctober 17-19 (Fri to Sun). I am a teacher and looking for new employment for next year, so I am trying not to schedule anything where I will have to take days off...the other question is Xmas. We are going to drive, not fly...I thought to leave Christmas day and stay through January 3rd. I know that 1/1 starts value season so would I have to make 2 separate bookings? I am trying to organize my thoughts so any ideas you have I would totally appreciate...

;)

The rate you are quoted for your room is based on the first night's stay. The week between Xmas and NY is peak rate. Therefore, you would definitely want to make 2 bookings, so that your stay from Jan 1 on would be at a lower rate. That's also one of the most crowded times to go. October should be considerably less crowded. See if you can get tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Also, the Food and WIne Festival should be going on in Epcot then.

Thanks disneyag...we went to MNSSHP last year while on our honeymoon and it was so crowded! The food and wine festival was really great!
I am prepared for the crowds (I think) It is something my husband and I awnt to experience...WDW at Xmas:p

It is defintely worth it to make 2 bookings :)

We are thinking of just doing the swan and visiting the other resorts...or maybe a few days at one and a few days at the other because it's killing me as an AP holder to be paying these holiday rates! And as a teacher I get a good swan rate!!!!!
Any thoughts?

I have heard that some people have gotten good rates on the DTD hotels via priceline....not sure how you are guaranteed to get one of those hotels, but it might be worth looking into.

DH is Active Duty Air Force and we have stayed at the DTD Hilton on SOG overflow and it is beautiful.....I am not sure about the other DTD hotels, but you could throw the question out there if anyone else has used Priceline for DTD hotels....

BTW- We will be there in October too! We are going 10/18-26 now to enjoy MNSSHP, Food and Wine and the Funai Classic Golf Tournie on Pal & Magnolia....and our 9th anniversary is 10/29, so we hope to celebrate while we are there!!!

Thank you!
I love everything about the month of October especially in WDW!
We are still discussing our plans...hopefully we'll be celebrating too!!!!;)

Hopefully you get to celebrate at WDW!! I know how hard planning vacation is as a school teacher. DM is a school teacher and we are trying to talk her and DDad into coming down to WDW for a long weekend for the golf tournie. She has some peronal days, but is hard to take them and plan on them in advance!

Either way --- enjoy your trip this spring!

Speaking of golfing--my Dh and I had both our families with us all week following our wedding...yep, on the honeymoon! (we didn't really spen that much time with them!!!!) Anyway, we stayed at the GF and a man gave my DH, DB, and DB-I-L tickets to the golf classic, they ate, drank and watched tiger..for free! And they had transportation to and from! Like I said, I love October there...just wish we had a fall break as a teacher ! :p

That is awesome! I think DH only tolerates my Disney obsession because he gets to golf!!! LOL!!! If you end up there in Oct and DH needs a golf partner...let me know!!!

Tix to the tournie sound pretty reasonable if you buy a 4 day pass...and we are DVC members....I asked the guy who works on it at Disney and he said they cant guarantee it but last year they offered DVC buy one, get one pass free...that's good, because unlike DH I can not tolerate 4 days of golf!!!! Too much Disney to be had to watch grass grow!!! LOL!!!
