Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

Poor Wally will always remember his first monorail ride for all the wrong reasons.

I am cracking up at that picture of you and Levi and that other woman sitting on the curb, waiting for the parade. Yes, she looks like she's had a full-day at the parks. :rotfl2:

You got some really nice fireworks pictures. (I'm glad you stood up.)

Great trip report! I look forward to reading more...by the way, LOVE the toenails!! :)

Thank you so much! I was very proud of our Minnie toes! ::MinnieMo

Nice update! Must be nice to get time off for snow. Last week one day we got about 4 inches of snow overnight...no school canceled, had to get up at 6 AM and snowblow so I could get to work...another 4 inches fell during the day...8 inches of snow in about 16 hours...no one thinks twice here, just push it aside. Grew up in Massachusetts, similar temps but not as much snow as here. 4 inches there would've shut school down for 1 day. DD has only had one snow day in 2 1/2 years. The good news was skiing was awesome on Sunday. :woohoo:

Back to YOUR trip. Feel bad for the daughter of the monorail family. "Wally" and you guys get a few minutes of it...she has to live with it.:sad2:

I agree 100% with your MSEP vs Spectro comments...I didn't grow up with either of them, but will admit I saw Spectro first. Glad I saw it, but OK if they bring back Spectro sooner than later!

It was very nice being off for the snow! When we do get snow, it is usually melted by that afternoon.
But this time, we had inches of snow/sleet & the temp never rose to melt it off the roads. Since it never snows that much there is not enough equipment to scrap roads except the interstate. If our roads have inches of snow & ice on them, they will close schools. The last time we had snow/sleet on the ground/roads for a week was in 1988. I was still in HS & it was so much fun being out a week.
I just hate it may be another 22 years before I get to see that much snow again.

I thought of the same thing that you said about the daughter. I'm always sad when I see what some kids have to live with.

Good Morning Amy! Wow, you're on early this morning!

I am cracking up at that picture of you and Levi and that other woman sitting on the curb, waiting for the parade. Yes, she looks like she's had a full-day at the parks. :rotfl2:
I'm guessing she was thinking....."Why's that good looking guy taking pictures of HER? What's she got that I don't.....besides a smile on her face, a good attitude, acting all happy and crap!!! Oh, and Minnie toes......" :rotfl:

Nice update! Love the pic of the kids in the snow. The pic of Brad and Levi in front of the castle was too cute!

Too bad for the monorail family. I don't think Disney is the best place to work on anything. I get the pixie dust happiness making things wonderful sometimes. However, I really believe if you're miserable in something, crowds and heat aren't going to help. Hopefully that outburst was just a reaction to it all and they really don't act his way all the time. That would be rough. :sad1:

I'm so with you on Spectro being better. The music used to drive me completely nuts, but I'd much rather hear it again than this MSEP stuff. Your pics of it were awesome though! :thumbsup2

I love our snow picture, it will definitely be making it on the grandparents 2012 calendar for the month of Jan!

Your right, heat & exhausting will only make you more miserable than happy. I hope that's all it was for this couple too & it's not that way always.

I was thinking the Spectro floats are more large too?

Ack-- that poor family. I hope whatever their problems were, they could work them out. Actually, poor "Wally" is more like it! Talk about awkward!
I love that picture of Brad and Levi-- precious!! The one of you and Lexi in the matching tops is great, too.
I'm with you on the MSEP. We're Spectro fans all the way!

I hope they worked it out too. Poor Wally!

Thanks for the picture compliments.

Sounds like a busy night at MK. You should have seen if they would give Levi and Lexi another Mickey ice cream bar since they fell off the stick. Sometimes I've heard of CMs being nice like that... Something to remember for next time!

I thought about that afterwards that I should have asked. I will next time!;)

Another great update. Good trade off - hold the spot while they picked up treats - then shop while they ate them!

It is amazing how tired you can feel when you stop at Disney!

It's a great trade off. It was so nice to just shop by myself in peace. :)

They will replace them if they fall off. happened my my DD last May as well as my friend's daughter.

I should have asked. I thought of it after the fact. Next time I will. :thumbsup2

Oh boy, poor Wally. And the daughter. Glad you got a good spot for the parade and Wishes-I am with you on the standing.

I don't know what it is about standing. We walk 10 miles at WDW & do just fine. But, I feel like I'm gonna pass out if stand for a while! :confused3

great updates!!!

Gotta love families on the monorail, happiest place on earth, ya right!!

Glad to hear you guys got snow! We had snow in Cincinnati but it melted today with the rain and warmer temps!

I love the PP pics!!

I bet there are so many interesting interactions on the monorail going on everyday!
We were estatic on our snow!

Poor Wally. l the "I only wanted to ride the monorail" was so sad. Still, that was an awkward situation. Funny how some people will air their "dirty laundry" so freely.

Yay for the snow day. I love the pics.

I had to have my dh get a dole whip on his last trip. He insisted no, swearing he wouldn't like them...but once I got him to have one, do you know how many snack credits he used to have one at every chance he could??? :rotfl2:

Nice parade and wishes pics!!

It was awkward because they were not quite at all.

You know I didn't even try the Dole Whip. I sent Brad to try one for hisself because I knew he would like it. But, I was too skeptical to try it myself! That's crazy!

What a crazy monorail ride!

The picture of you and Lexi is adorable and I also love the one of Brad and Levi. Your family is just beautiful.

That was a crazy ride that thank goodness we probably will never have a repeat of.

Thank you so much for the compliments :goodvibes

Levi got some great "air" on the jumping picture!

I was impressed on how high Levi's jump was!

For me it was great to see MSEP this last trip! I enjoy Spectro too, but had seen it a few times so the change was good. Plus DW and I had seen MSEP at DL years ago, and it was fun trying to see how much I remembered!

Isn't Spectro floats bigger? I've only seen it once & I just remembered being more in 'awe' of it. I don't know if it was because they were bigger or because it was my 1st time seeing a 'lighted' parade.

The snow was crazy! We still have quite a bit at the bottom of our driveway and in the shady areas, even with the rain all day today. There was a good bit less coming home from Scouts tonight though! Of course, they are predicting a slight chance for a little more this weekend...... :rolleyes1

I couldn't believe how much snow was still hanging around after the rain too.
I have not listened to the news so I just asked my class about what you said about a slight chance of snow this weekend. They said we might see flurries. Crazy!

Good Morning Amy! Wow, you're on early this morning!

I'm impressed with myself that I was ready early enough this morning to get on the Dis for a minute before taking the kids to school.

I'm guessing she was thinking....."Why's that good looking guy taking pictures of HER? What's she got that I don't.....besides a smile on her face, a good attitude, acting all happy and crap!!! Oh, and Minnie toes......" :rotfl:

That's it!!!!! She was just all jealous of my Minnie toes!!!! :rotfl:

I really liked the Dole Whip also. You have some great pics of the Electrical Parade. We weren't blown away by the parade either. I think my expectations were too great, and the crowds definitely made it hard to enjoy as well.

As always all our your family pictures are great. You are very blessed!

WOW Amy, I've missed so much! But I'm hoping to stick around now! So happy to hear that your holidays were nice. Btw, your Christmas morning pics were beautiful, how do you look SO GOOD at 5:30 in the morning?! I don't think i look that good, ever! So pretty, girl!!

So sorry to hear that Levi was sick over the holiday, but glad to hear that he got to have some snow play time these last couple of weeks and its recovering- poor little guy!

So funny about the Kali speedo guy/bikini girl..you SO have to wonder what some people are thinking?!! :confused3

And wow about Wally on the monorail.....talk about embarrassing!! :rolleyes1

Loving all the family pics...you are all SO photogenic, it's amazing to me!

Can't wait to read more!!!!:goodvibes

Hi there.....:wave2: I am a fellow Carolinian(North) to your thread.:woohoo: The day you checked in, we were checking out from POR.:sad1:

Your children are precious. I hate to hear that Levi had a little fall.:sad1:

I also had my own lil Karma incident at Disney back in September. I do not like birds, and at the AK my family were persistent on me watching the birds of flight show. Well.....I mentioned throughout the show my dislike (I know, so unsportsmanlike like......I blame it on the throbbing headache) for birds. So, guess what happened to me the very next day at MK?? A bird did his/her business on me...yup, poo-poo on my shoulder. I have learned to keep my mouth shut...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am enjoying your TR!!!! Can't wait to hear more.

:welcome: I hate I missed my southern neighbor by a day at WDW! Did you have a great trip? I noticed on your signature that you've been to WDW many times & have stayed at CBR too.

Your bird poo-poo incident is hilarious! (but I'm sure it wasn't to you at the time!) I was dying laughing when I read that!:rotfl:

Thanks for saying:wave2:!

That lady just cracks me up everytime I see it!

I'm glad I stood up too, you would not have enjoyed seeing pics of my view sitting down (or maybe you would have;))

I really liked the Dole Whip also. You have some great pics of the Electrical Parade. We weren't blown away by the parade either. I think my expectations were too great, and the crowds definitely made it hard to enjoy as well.

As always all our your family pictures are great. You are very blessed!

The crowds are just crazy during the parade!

Thanks, I do feel very blessed with my family! And, it is so exciting on how you've got a little blessing coming along too! :cutie:

WOW Amy, I've missed so much! But I'm hoping to stick around now! So happy to hear that your holidays were nice. Btw, your Christmas morning pics were beautiful, how do you look SO GOOD at 5:30 in the morning?! I don't think i look that good, ever! So pretty, girl!!

Kristen, I'm so glad you've made it back!
I only looked good at 5:30 in the morning because I only slept for a few hours - not long enough to mess up my hair! Christmas day is always like at WDW, your just running on adrenaline all day & you crash when it's over!

You're the beautiful one with the most handsome 4 men in your life!

Bikini girl & speedo man was a sight that you'll be glad you missed seeing that week!

What an "interesting" monorail ride. I've been in a similar situation while at Disney and you don't really know what to do. It's hard to act like you aren't listening when there's no way that you can't help but listen. I bet Wally will forever remember his first ride on the monorail.

I have got to get a Dole Whip on our next trip. Every time I see somebody post how good they are, I say "I want one of those."

You are right, the lady sitting beside you waiting on the parade looks worn out. Poor thing had probably been going since sun up.

Isn't Spectro floats bigger? I've only seen it once & I just remembered being more in 'awe' of it. I don't know if it was because they were bigger or because it was my 1st time seeing a 'lighted' parade.
Spectro was probably designed to be on a grander scale. However, as far as I know, MSEP was the original (some DISaddict may know better) nighttime "light" parade. DW and I saw it in 1985 at DL. I remember it being so amazing since it was something I hadn't seen before at the time! :goodvibes I was just really looking forward to seeing it again, with the upgrades, and seeing how much of it was "familiar!" I wasn't disappointed for sure!!! :thumbsup2
I have not listened to the news so I just asked my class about what you said about a slight chance of snow this weekend. They said we might see flurries. Crazy!
Flurries tonight, but they said on the weather yesterday they don't expect any accumulation. :)

The Dole Whip is one of those things I have planned to try, but every time I'm at WDW I never think about it at the right time. :confused3 I guess I need to make a list of "must-do's" for our trip in June. Probably a better time to enjoy one anyway!!!

Ohhh intersting monorail, I would have been like Lexi...dying to listen and DBF would've been trying to distract me! Being unhappy at the unhappiest place on earth...not cool! :cool1:

More popsicles! I've yet to try a mickey ice cream...on the to do list...oh dear for the woman beside you, she just doesn't look so cheerful beside you and Lexi! :confused3

Hi, neighbor!! Sorry I haven't posted much, but I have been following along, I promise!! I'm glad that y'all were able to enjoy the snow. It sounds like y'all were as shut down as we were! It was pure craziness! By Tuesday, I was so bored and ready to get out of the house, that I went outside and started shoveling snow just to have something to do!

I cannot believe a Disney veteran as yourself has not tried the Dole Whip.
You better try one the next trip!

The night parades are awesome! We don't watch any during the day, but we love seeing the night ones.

Put that Dole Whip on your to-do list!

Snow flurries tonight!!!!

Lexi is nosey. I want to be, I just don't want to be obvious! :rolleyes1 She was literally leaned over into them listening!

I thought of you & almost wrote down in my TR that we ended up getting Lexi & Levi an iced lolly!

I'm glad your still around & doing good!

The snow was crazy! I seen several postings on my Facebook where people started shoveling because they were bored & going stir crazy at home!

I'm way too lazy for that!

wow sounds like you had your memorable monorail ride as well.

although ours was funny yours was a pretty sad at the way they acted.

What an interesting monorail ride. Really feel for that kid.

Great pics of MSEP and Wishes.

Jealous of the snow. Last two years we had some snow here, which was definitely strange. The kids keep asking when it will snow this year.:confused3 It probably won't.

Love the pic of Lexi and Levi in the snow, are they your snow angels?:goodvibes

Your farting monorail ride was funnier & mine is sad. Wonder what would have happened if I had Levi to just go over there & fart on them (like your ride)? Maybe the smell could have disintegrated their fight :confused3

I hope your kids will get to see snow again soon! When it snows in NC, a lot of my friends will drive up to NC so their kids can play in the snow & then drive back home the same day. Brad never wants to do that, he's a party pooper!

I call them my little snow bunny & snow monster, but they are definitely my little snow angels too!:littleangel::littleangel:

that would have been great.

to bad you didnt think of that at the time:laughing:
