Having a little trouble with the nuances of the DVA.

I set up a DVA to pay for our cruise in Jan and have been funding with discounted Disney gift cards. It was all done in plenty of time for the 120 day mark before our PIF date.

Last week we booked a trip for WDW in Sept. I was going to get up another "account" (this is what DVA calls it, even though it would still be under my screen name and password) on DVA to fund the WDW trip. Our pif date for that is more than 120 days from when I set up the first account, but less than 120 days from now. So, I didn't set up another account because I want to be sure to get the $20 gift cards.

I have no problem with keeping track of the money for the two trips in one account, but will Disney let me pay for a WDW trip from an account earmarked as for a cruise?

I bought our park tix with the account I started for the cruise so I don't think it matters.

IF you "over feed" the acct and have money left over after paying for whatever vacation (they don't care where so long as it is mouse-related) I'm SURE theywould be more than happy to "hold on" to your money for you until you take another vacation. I'm just spit-ballin' here

Each separate "goal" should have it's own unique account number. You would use the appropriate account number for payment.

The way I read it you don't have to open a new account for each goal. This way you don't have to worry about having it open for 120 days to use it after it's open for the first 120 days. At least that's what i'm dong and several over on the Budget Board.

I don't see why it would be an issue.

I didn't create a new account for Alaska 2016 after we paid off our upcoming October cruise. I mean, they are both cruises, but I don't think it's a problem. I just changed the name and the goal amount. You can do this by clicking "Edit Goal" under the Account Details. You can just change the name, type of vacation and amount you want to save up.

I think if I were saving for two vacations concurrently, it might make some sense to have two, but honestly, I think it's fine just having it all be one pot of money.

It's so easy to change it. I think the only reason they have it as one or the other is for the theming of the page when you log in!
