Disney Vacation Account program closed

I still haven't received anything in my email about my gift cards. My account balance says 0 or at least it did before the site went down. This could turn into quite a fiasco. Hope it doesn't! Lot of people have money tied up in that thing.

You can resend your egift card to your email. It is on your account page of the DVA website.

I chose the gift card option, as well. I had to try about 3 times before it went through, and received the e-giftcard within a few minutes.

I'm really bummed about this because it was such an easy way to save towards a Disney trip.

I was finally able to log in again, and this time, it showed my gift cards with instructions to click to send to email. I no sooner clicked the button, than they showed up in my email.

Whew.

The site was down last night but it was up this morning and I got my e-gift card within a few seconds.

So I opted to cash out my DVA getting the giftcards plus the 5 percent. I got them and have already used them toward my upcoming trip. I just got an email that my $60 gift card would be mailed today. Sooo I got the 5 percent plus $20 for every $1000 I had in there. Anyone else?

If you want to convert your account money to a gift card, I suggest you do it on the phone, not on Disney's website. When I tried to convert my vacation account money (today, Thursday), the e-gift card I was sent was garbage. There was no barcode and no pin. When I called the help number on the gift card email, they had never heard of Disney Vacation Accounts. They transferred me to somebody at DVC, who had never heard of Disney Vacation Accounts. They transferred me to reservations, and I have yet to get through to anybody. As of now, I'm out $1500. Aaaand reservations has never heard of it.

I'm going to miss this program. It was an easy way for me to save for our upcoming vacation and I was looking forward to using it for the next one.

Is the DVA closing behind the reason they had that survey about some account where others could contribute to your Disney Vacation?

I cashed out of my DVA also, and received the gift cards in email. Next day, I also received this email saying I would be receiving the $60 gift card...I did not use my e-gift cards yet towards my vacation....not sure what's going on, but would welcome an additional $60 for our trip!!

I finally found the correct phone number to call (no thanks to any of the previous CMs I spoke to, who kept insisting I was talking about DVC) and was told I would have to choose between the 5% back or $20 per thousand. I chose the 5% and received a new, non-garbled gift card. A magical experience indeed.

I have $20 sitting in my DVA. Based on the above, my best option is to wait for them to issue the refund after Sept 27 and take the $5 GC, right? Think I'll get it before my trip end of Dec?
