Our current plan is to stay at Beach Club at Disney for 4 nights, then transfer to the Polynesian for 3 nights, but first, stay 1 night at Universal’s RPR. It was suggested to us that, since we are already doing a split stay and checking out to move this might be the best time to visit Universal as we may be able to have Bell Services hold most of our luggage for a day in between. I am now wondering if we would be better off doing US at the beginning or end of our trip and not right in the middle? I’m questioning our plans and here are all the concerns for either plan: 1–loss of dining credits while we transition to Universal, 2–it seems like it’s more shuttle trips this way, 3–better vacation flow, 4—ending at Universal during MLK weekend will allow us to avoid lines more as we will have EP, 5–more settled in at Disney if we start our trip at Universal, 6–more energy for what is new to us at Universal, 7–loss of Magical Express if we start at Universal. *sigh*

For those that have done any of these plans—-either start at Universal, end at Universal, or go to Universal mid-trip, what would you do and why?

TIA. Side note—I am also posting this on the Disney forum. Sorry for the duplicate post, but I’m starting to panic as I need to make dining plans soon.

I like it at the end the best though the beginning and more energy is a good point. I don’t like it in the middle.

We usually end our trip at WDW but we do 7 nights at Universal and 1 night at Disney for the Food & Wine Festival. We do it that way for ME on the flight home.

In your case I would do it in the middle so you get 2 full days of Express at Universal and Magical Express at Disney. It would require the shuttle but you would pay twice whatever you decide.

Hope you have a wonderful trip. My dream is to stay at the Poly.

Thank you! The Poly is truly a dream resort. We fell in love with it the last time we went, which is a large part of our doing the split stay with Beach Club. We are worried we won’t like the Beach Club quite as much. But...we really feel like it will be nice to try both this trip. The BC seems like it has plenty of advantages, so we’re excited for that. Just hope I don’t regret the split stay in addition to our days at Universal.

Truthfully, I’d skip Universal altogether and enjoy an extra day at the Polynesian. It’s fsr nicer than RPR and it sounds like you have real excitement for it.

I agree with @tink1957 - I'd do UO in the middle. It's more hotel transfers, but you'll get the two full days at UO. Plus, Universal is relaxing and you'll have express pass so you won't have to wait in long lines- and no advanced dining reservations required. That may be a nice breather in the middle of a Disney trip!

You wouldn't lose your dining credits, you would just have extras that you could use at other times assuming you aren't getting the deluxe dining plan. If you do the regular disney dining plan with one table service a day, you could use it for breakfast or something.
Honestly I've done the split stays and I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to. Its a pain to move everything. The Poly has nice rooms and I loved the shower, but honestly if I had to choose, we love the beach club, the pool is excellent and you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Yes the rooms definitely aren't as nice, but the convenience is nice. Poly isn't all that convenient to MK either as the monorails are clogged and the small boats are usually packed so taking the bus to beach club is not a huge deal.
