My friend & I are planning a mainly WDW trip with two days for IoA/UStudios..

So.
I hear about this express pass offered to guests for free.
And, well, she's never been to either park - and I want her to enjoy it all.

We're probably going the first or second week of MAY (2013).
And was wondering if we should stay first two nights at Universal and go to those parks, then go to a Disney Resort and finish the vacation there.

Or simply drive to US/IoA whilst at the Disney Resort. Would the crowds during early May be bad?

Thanks. (:

There really are no benefits to staying onsite at Disney. There are tons of benefits to staying onsite at Universal. I would stay onsite at Universal while there. Crowds seem to be heavy pretty much continually at Universal lately.

Also, do Disney first. Waiting at Disney is very annoying after no waits at Universal.

We're staying onsite at Disney. No doubt about it. That wasn't what I was asking. I was asking if we should book two places.. or just stay at Disney (and go to U/IoA whilst staying there)...

Thanks though..

We usually stay on site at both places. Do Disney first and then Universal because you will be spoiled by the ease of navigating the Universal Parks.

I would stay at both places onsite. However, do Disney first!! You will feel so much better doing Disney first to get all the lines out of the way at the start. Then the rest of your trip at Universal will be stress free with no lines! If you do it the other way around, you will be annoyed more at Disney becuase you will have just had a great trip with no waits.

i follow the pack also.
stay onsite at the motherland first, then switch to the darkside hotels.
same suggestions.

you stated your trip will be 2 years from now.
things might change in your plans.

the way disney has been increasing prices, i might only stay there for 5 days on my 2012 visit and the rest at the darkside hotels.

can't believe that a one day ticket at disney will be $85 plus tax this weekend.
the extra day passes all increase also.
i've booked one of the cheapest rooms in a value season for disney this year and it's costing me over $123 with tax on the weekends.
my room at rph is $149. plus tax......

i dread to see what prices will be 2 years from now..

I agree about WDW prices.. it's insane. :/
Me and my friend may postpone our trip to 2016 for our College Grad present and make it a longer trip, and have more $$ (which we'll need apparently...)...

Yeah.
But thank you guys so much..!

hope you and your friend do make it to the darkside one day!

We just got back from a 5 day trip with two nights at the RPR followed by two nights at the Contemporary. We were so let down with the Contemporary and Disney after Universal. Contemporary was really dirty. The carpets in the halls were really disgusting. Our room had mold in the bathroom, on the ceilings and there were globs of some kind of brown stuff on our walls. The waits were long and it took a long time to get from the hotel to the parks. Our room at RPR was spotless throughout and there were little to no waits. I would never do it that way again or stay at the Contemporary again. We paid $100/night more to stay at the Contemporary too!

I just heard about the price increase at WDW. I was thinking about just staying at Universal for our short trip in a few months and increasing the ticket prices at that other place have just about convinced me. We could afford onsite at Universal if we didn't have to buy Disney passes.

Of course the Universal hotels are probably sold out...

I did US/IOA first. I loved RPR, but I wasn't thrilled with the parks. I have a couple of rides I would do again, but I'm in no rush to go back. I think I was just upset that they got rid of King Kong and Back to the Future. They were my 2 fave rides there. Whatever you decide have fun.

Well, you better hurry and buy your tickets. Universal normally increases ticket prices to match Disney within a few days of Disneys increase. Either way, Universal's tickets (with park to park access) are much cheaper than disneys.

well, universe increased the AP's march 1st.
that caught a lot of homies off guard....

with the economy the way it is, maybe UO will hold off increasing the ticket prices to the end of the year instead.

they already are receiving oodles more $$ for that March increase...

i'm waiting for the moterland to increase the parking fees.
and of course UO will be next on that one too...
