DH originally ordered it last August for my Christmas present!
I get where you are coming from with one side being plain black ~ at first look, although I loved the decorated side I was unsure about the black side, but when you are wearing the bag up on your shoulder it doesn't show.
I've got three DDs and when they came in from school/college they were all "Wow, that will look great on holiday, Mum". If they didn't approve of it they would soon let me know!
I'm impressed with how well made it is, I just wish the pocket inside had a zip.
As I guess you can tell I love my bag and am going to keep it and use it for my Disney holidays. If you're not sure get someone to take a photo of you with the bag then you can see more objectively what it looks like but if you're still unsure you'd be best to return it. On the back of the invoice there is a 365 day returns guarantee, you will have to find the cost of the postage yourself but they will refund anything you've already paid.
