Disney trying to stop the cell phone after ride photos?

Our local parks have signs that say it illegal to take pictures of the display screens.

Universal has always stopped photos of their pictures. There is a cast member there at the photo displays that tells you not to take any pictures there.

I would imagine those images are protected by copyright. Disney owns the rights to them. If they were meant to be free, Disney would have Cast Members handing prints out at the ride exit. Anybody who takes a photo of the image shown on those screens is technically stealing.

I'm glad it is stealing. I know if you have the photo pass + you can write down the number and you have up to 48 hours to add it to the card. I don't know why everyone gets all upset over rumors.

Plus the jam up that it causes at the end of the ride with people trying to take the picture on the cell and others trying to see the picture and get the number so they can order the photo.

I think this is the biggest BS ever....trust me it won't force me to over pay for a picture

As are the PP+ ones. You have to agree to the terms and conditions when you purchase. Just makes sense I guess. Why give it away when you can charge for it. We used PP+ on our last trip, but will most likely not in the future as my kids are older. If we decide we want a specific picture, we'll just buy what we want.

Since I have been purchasing PP+, the only time I take a photo of the ride photo is when there isn't a cast member to write down the number. Otherwise I forget it before I get to the counter :)

To all those saying to write down the number of your ride photo and add it to your Photo Pass account...does this only apply to certain ride photos?

No idea if things have changed or not but when I had Photo Pass in 2011, the only ride photo you could put on your account ( FOR FREE) was Test Track and one other but I can't remember which....possibly Buzz Lightyear???

The "big" rides that took your picture, you had to pay extra to add it to your account.

It only makes sense they make you pay for pics, as they have not opened it for people but to make profit off people.

I'm guilty of quickly stopping to snap a picture of our ride photos
but it does make sense to enforce this "no pictures of pictures" rule.
That being said, when I do take a picture with my phone it's not as though I'm getting a nice quality photo that I'll want to frame or hang up. Usually the picture stays with me and whoever I was with for something to look back on.
