We are staying either AKL or CSR. I see that the mini golf courses (at Blizzard Beach and MGM) seem within walking distance from CSR (am I right, or is the map misleading?) If we stay AKL, is it much of a walk to mini golf, or is transportation provided from AKL? Anyone know the cost of mini golf?

Thanks.

Your best bet is to either take Disney transportation to Blizzard Beach for the WinterSummerland course, or to the Boardwalk for Fantasia. There are no sidewalks along the "highway" to walk and it's alot further than it appears. Can't remember the prices to play, though.

$11 for adults. We played Fantasia last year. We just walked over from the Boardwalk. Beware though it's not as close as it looks, especially when you're ddragging a 2 yo. :)

For the Fantasia course, there will be no direct bus from AKL to Boardwalk. You will need to take a bus to either a park or the TTC and then transfer to a bus to the Boardwalk. That can take a long time. A cab directly to and from the minigolf would be easier (although costly).

If you are going to take a bus, the better bus would be to Swan or Dolphin. It will be a shorter walk from either of those hotels to the Fantasia course than it would be from the Boardwalk bus stop.

Does anyone know their hours of operation?
I know Fantasia closes at 9pm I think?!?!
What about Winter Summerland course? If it closes around 9...how do we get there since Blizzard Beach closes at 5 or 6pm - correct?

hmmm mystery!

The water parks and mini golf are the only exceptions I make to my "park the car and don't move it until we leave" rule! If you have a car - it's a lot easier to drive then figure out the buses.

IMGONNABE40! If you decide to take a bus, do not look for a bus from your resort to TTC. There won't be any because resort busses don't go to TTC.

Disers have posted on other threads that they were able to walk from CSR to BB golf course.

While they share similar themes, Winter Summerland is NEAR Blizzard Beach, but not IN it. Separate places, with separate hours, and separate tickets/fees.

I have no idea what the mini-golf places look like, if they have lots of trees or shade, etc. I KNOW what HOT & HUMIDITY is - I live in it year round - and I would think that playing mini-golf during the day in August might NOT be a good idea with kids. I would think that late afternoon & evenings might be the best time to go.

Anyone have any daytime August playing experience? Or do these places have websites and photos so I could figure out IF I will even tell the kids about playing mini-golf in Orlando!!

We are staying at the Swan - would it be "walkable" with 3 kids ages 10, 7 & 5?? We are renting a car to drive to Orlando.

Fantasia Gardens is right across thes treet from the Swan, a two minute walk. No shade, not suggested on a hot day, that's for sure. Winter SUmmerland looks to have a bit more shade, and you can get there via the BB bus. Often an AKL or AK driver will be willing to take you to W/SL on their way back if no bus is running to BB.
