Keep hearing different things about making a morning flight... We have Disney transportation from ship to airport. Our flight leaves at 11:45 am. Do we need to be concerned about making our flight? I am sure that Disney has transportation under control to help everyone make their flights...just need to hear some reassurance from those who have experienced morning flights from ship to airport. Thanks for your input...

You should be able to make an 11:45 am flight with no problems. However, if you're taking the DCL buses, you'll want to be one of the first ones off the ship. If everything goes normally as far as the ship getting back into port, you'll make it. We're almost always through security by 10:00 am using the DCL buses. The only worry would be if the ship is late getting back into port, which happens, but rarely. If they've reinstated luggage check-in at the port (which I've heard they have), you should be fine, as you won't have to wait at the main check-in at MCO, and can check in at your gate. We're always on a 12:45 flight home, and have always had at least a two hour wait after getting through check-in and security at MCO.

I'm sure others on this board have had similar flight times and can share their experiences, too.

DEFINITELY be one of the first off!
On our last trip, we disembarked rather late, and by the time we got to MCO, we discovered that passengers from just about every cruise ship were all apparently trying to get through Security at the same time. Thankfully, our flight wasn't until late, so we shopped and had lunch while the line thinned out.
Also, as Senor pointed out, there is a slight chance that the ship could be delayed (we also had our luggage mistakenly taken by someone else once in the port, and Disney wouldn't take a report until everyone else had disembarked in case it showed up, so that was a MAJOR delay). Hopefully if you are on an airline with multiple flights out of Orlando, they could get you on another one if something like that happens. The chance is VERY small...it only has happened to us once in 19 cruises.

We had an 1100am flight and made it with 1.5 hours to spare. We were off the ship early due t the 630 customs check for Canadians. I was really worried about being on time, but had plenty of time.
