well we got lucky enought to snag an illumination cruise. The dock is at yacht club, what would be the best way to get there from All Star Movies if we don't have a car.

i would suggest to take the bus to DHS and either walk or take the boat to the YC

On our cruise in 1999 the pilot dropped us off at the IG boatdock at our request. Perhaps you can get dropped at the DHS dock.

Good plan, but there might be a snag getting back to AS resorts the same way. Check to see what time DHS closes to make sure that the buses are still running after the show. Buses run for two hours after closing or until the parks are clear, which can be less than 2 hours. There is always BW to DTD to AS.

Well, Epcot remains open as long as there are Guests in the park, including in the restaurants. This can easily be until 10 or later. You can ask the boat Captain to let you off at the IG (assuming DHS isn't having Extra Magic Hours) and walk through the park to the front gate, then take Disney transportation back to your resort. You should be done with the boat by about 9:30; buses will still be operating pretty much in full force.

Just a couple of points.
The park is considered closed at the published time. It's just after the fireworks. It's not cleared of guests but it is closed to new guests. They will not allow anyone in after that time, just out. I wouldn't count on getting in thru the IG in order to walk to the front if it's after the official close time.

Also, if they haven't used an admission to Epcot that day or used a park hopper, they will have to use one to walk thru the park.

Having said all that, we do try to "make the magic" when practical and sometimes we'll buy a sob story. So we might let them walk thru to the front without using up a ticket.

We encountered this in reverse last year. We had a ressie at Ohana and took the monorail from MK to Epcot to return to our room at BoardWalk. Epcot was closed to new enteries but we showed our park pass to a guard and told him we needed to get through to the IG exit and he let us in.

We went through the IG twice this past week after Illuminations was over. We just told the person at the gate that our car was parked out front. Tickets were not an issue as we have APs.
