Disney Transfers to Port

Disney has booked our travel and we are also using them for transfers to and from the Port.

Do they pick up our luggage from baggage claim or do we get it and then turn it over to them? If they pick it up, how do they know how many bags we have. Of course, they will be tagged but if the airline only manages to get 3 out of 4 to Orlando, how will Disney know that?

You will get luggage tags with your documents about a month before cruise time. You put those tags on your bags and they will be taken care of "behind the scenes". I assume you are traveling the day your embark. You will just land and find a DCL representative and they will direct you to the bus. The bags will be collected by DCL at the airport and transferred separately and later they will arrive at your cabin door. There is a bar code and lots of info on each bag. Once it is found (if it was ever missing) the airline will coordinate with DCL to get the bag to the ship either that day or if too late at your first port.
