Disney Transfers Question

Hello Everyone,

There is a lot of information about disney transfers, mostly about airport to port and WDW to port.

Has anyone taken transfers from DCL to WDW? If so, is the luggage handled the same way onboard check in works? As in, do you get luggage tags the night before and your luggage shows up in your resort room?

Or do you have to pick it up and load it onto the bus?

If the transfers take the luggage the night before, when do they normally deliver those bags to the room in WDW?

Thank you.

You have to pick up your luggage at customs (or do express walk off with it) and bring it with you to the bus.

DCL to WDW is a very popular question on these boards so you are not alone. The process is a bit different than the WDW to DCL process where your checked bags are automatically delivered to your cabin. That is not the case going from DCL to WDW. The night before the cruise ends you will put your luggage outside in the hall for pick up. The last morning of the cruise you will go to breakfast either in the MDR's or if you prefer at the buffet in Cabanas or Beach Blanket Buffet (Wonder). You must be out of your cabin by 8:00 am so you would collect your carry ons, leave your stateroom and head off the ship (if you have already eaten) or lug your carry ons to the dining room (hate that). You would then proceed off the ship, collect your luggage from the terminal, head through customs, walk out of the terminal and be directed to the bus/buses going to WDW. A CM is on hand to direct you to the correct bus. The driver will put your big bags under the bus for transport to the resort. You may stop at more than one resort. To help with luggage at the terminal you can use the services of the porters (they expect gratuity but are very worth it IMO). Once at the resort bell services will take it from there and you would check into your resort.

Depending on where you have breakfast you could be on your way by 8:00 ish to the resort. You can also carry your bags off the ship (not put them out the night before) and leave the ship even earlier.

Nice thorough answers. Since i'm carrying my own luggage...would it be plausible to say that it might be better to get private transfers? The sticking point for me is not having to touch luggage, but if i have to do it, why pay the extra $$. Your thoughts?

Private transfers are good and can be cheaper.
