So I just booked a super last minute cruise and I'm looking at booking a MCO area hotel through hotwire. I was thinking that I would take the hotel shuttle back to the airport in the morning and catch my Disney transfer. Has anyone done this?

Did this last April on WBPC. Worked great. We were 4 adults with 9 full size suitcases plus carry-ons so I was worried about the hotel shuttle. Large van, plenty of room, quick pick-up, free breakfasrtand dropped off in time to catch the first bus to PC. Yes, if was Hotwire.

I love the Hyatt which is directly inside the airport but other than that, the Doubletree is not far away, has reliable shuttles and we used it to get back to the airport and take the shuttle to PC.

Did you buy your DCL transfer already? (if not, they are 35$/pp each way).

That sounds perfect, thank you! So did you have to just let them know that you needed to be dropped off at baggage claim? And do I go to the same counter as ME for Disney resorts? I've never actually done transfers for a cruise...always private transfers or car rental.

Yes, I did when I booked. Thank you for your advice!

On the other side of the walkway than the DME counter. You will see critical mass start building around 8am if not before.

what time does the first shuttle run from MCO to Port Canaveral?
I was looking into cruise and snooze packages but their pick upservice is only between 10.45 and 11.15 and I'd rather be in port earlier cause I'm platinum but trying to catch m&g tickets onboard since I just booked this weekend for an October cruise...

DCL Transfers from MCO begin running about 9:15am or as soon as full, and leave approximately every 20 minutes or so after that (sooner if full). To arrive at PC early your best bet is DCL transfers. Outside transportation likely will not guarantee a pick-up early enough for 10:30 arrival because technically they aren't allowed in to the port area for drop-offs until 11am.

Enjoy your cruise!

thanks so much for the info! and thanks, my first time on the Fantasy but couldn't say no to that GTY rate! Flying in from HK the afternoon before so think I'll stay at the Hyatt but if I want to catch that first shuttle and not have too much hassle dragging 2 or 3 suitcases it will be worth the extra money.

You could also try Go Port Canaveral - their package includes pick up at MCO, Drop off at your hotel in the Port Canaveral area and transfers to the port in the morning. That way you would be closer to the port in the morning ::yes::

Yeah I considered that but the last shuttle to PC apparently is at 7pm and with a scheduled 5.50pm arrival time after 23h of travelling that seemed a bit tight and tricky...

I wasn't sure if you meant that it would be easy to haul 2-3 suitcases just because you're close because if you're staying at the MCO Hyatt, they will pick up your luggage in the morning so you don't have to haul the luggage down yourself unless you really want to. You just let them know when you're checking in and they'll give you a form to fill in.
