Disney Traditions

I just thought of another one:

-If I'm there for a RunDisney race, I always head over to the Fez House at the Morocco pavilion in Epcot and get a picture of me with my Yoda backpack (that I got at HS in 2012) wearing my finisher medal. I don't know how that became tradition, lol, but it's something I just love.

This is a recent tradition, but one that has continued for the last few trips and will into the future:
Since we try to catch the ME at 3:00 due to later flight, we spend the morning/afternoon at Epcot. We get our last beer (Harp) at Yorkshire County Fish Shop and then head over to the little seating area to the right of Yorkshire and enjoy our beers overlooking World Showcase Lagoon for one last time. (Until next time...)

We always start our trip at Epcot. We make our way towards France and get a grey goose lemonade slushie. This is a must for our first day.

We always hit MK for rope drop or EMH on our second day and make sure to be in MK on our last night for Wishes to go out with a quite literal...bang :)

We like to go to DTD and eat dinner @ T-Rex on our arrival day. We enjoy it and gives us something to always look forward too .

Our first and last day must always be spent at MK.

Illuminations is a must.

We always plan a lunch at the Rose & Crown.

First breakfast is Ohana.

We all ride IASM at some point.

The kids always preplan their ride photos with a theme so each collage from each trip has some "silly face theme" on all the various rides (SM, etc.)

And months before, my wife buys large lots of pins from eBay for trading with.

First day is usually a Saturday - we get up really early and do EMH at DHS, first to TSMM, then DH and DS ride RNRC and we all ride Star Tours. Then we usually come off and ride Star Tours again. And again. (It's my son's favorite.)
Then we eat something and Star Tours again. You get the idea.

11 days from now we'll be doing just that!

Straight to MK for a Caseys hotdog...then first ride is always POTC...been the tradition for 20 years now and going again in June!!! :):)

First day for us is always splurging on dinner at Shula's, while we still have the money. :lmao: By the time we actually arrive in Orlando, rent a car and check in to our resort (we stay offsite at a timeshare); we usually don't have time to go to a park. Therefore, we go to an early dinner at Shula's so we can rest up and get ready to hit the parks early in the morning.

Our last night is always spent at MK. We have to watch Wishes one last time and we stay to watch the Kiss Goodnight. We're usually some of the last people out of the park that night.

The past two times our first ride has been Spaceship Earth (staying at Yacht/Beach Club) and this next trip seems to be headed that same way! :)

I hope to continue a tradition started by my MIL...having our boys silhouettes cut every time we go. She had it done for her kids and has them framed and hanging in her house.

I would love to have the comparision of my boys' silhouettes to hang next to their daddies when he was a boy.

The day before our flight we stay at a hotel near the airport. Last year my DH tried to make it special by getting an upgrade to "runway view". Our view was of some trees & the airport parking garage! :rotfl2: So no more "upgrades" there.
Our first day in the world, we chill at our resort. The last full day, we usually do the same, or shop at DTD. In between, I have to get one of those yummy alcoholic lemon slushies from France, anything with caramel from Germany, & the butterfinger cupcake from HS. *sigh* I miss Disney. Only 183 days left....

Jalapeño cheese filled pretzels???? Where, where?

We always end with Illuminations at Epcot and I cry.

Like almost everyone else we begin and end the trip at the MK and we try to stay out as late as possible the last night. We always start the trip with a ride on Haunted Mansion and always eat at the same 3 restaurants at some point during the trip (Ohana, Coral Reef and Via Napoli).

Love this thread. Watching the Electric Water Pagent parade from the beach at Poly. Been doing this since 1976, makes me think of my Dad

Walking through EVERY single shop on Main Street :rotfl: Eating a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar is also a must do :)

Our trips must start and end at MK. :goodvibes
Ours too... And our last night we stay as late as we possibly can! :) We also get haircuts in Harmony Barber Shop! (although our last trip we skipped it bc we splurged at BBB for our girls)
Dole whips! Thunder mountain at night!

Always taking the first early morning flight out of Buffalo to Orlando and always taking the latest flight out of Orlando on our last day. Maximize the amount of time in WDW. Always having at least a dozen jalapeno cheese filled pretzels.
Hey... From buffalo to disney here too! :) We booked the earliest sand latest flights for our next trip too! :)

We have not stayed at the G. Floridian for some time but we always go at least once on our trip no matter where we are staying to listen to the piano player in the lobby and my daughter likes to dance to the music. pixiedust:
