Coming soon to a theater near you: Disney's version of the mission to kill Osama bin Laden?
Well, not necessarily. But it does appear Disney is itching to stake a merchandising claim on the international incident.
The government's trademark database shows that Disney Enterprises Inc. trademarked the name "Seal Team 6" on May 3--two days after President Obama announced that Navy SEAL Team 6 killed terrorist leader bin Laden in Pakistan.
The trademarks appear to apply to merchandise.
With the American public clamoring for Navy SEAL Team 6 connections--between obsessions with the SEAL workouts, silly dolls and other accessories--Disney is probably on to something.
