Disney To Close Pocahontas Show

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The live 'Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends' show at Disney's Animal Kingdom will soon be closed.

The show, which has been running for 10 years, will close Sept. 27.

Walt Disney World officials said no immediate replacement is planned for the amphitheater.

The Pocahontas character will remain at the park, and the show's 28-member cast and crew will be reassigned.

Sad but it will be good to get something new into Camp Minnie-Mickey.

Maybe the closure of this show will signal the gradual outphase of Camp Minnie-Mickey and maybe the construction of the long-awaited Beastly Kingdom! I know it's a stretch, but one can dream, can't they?

that sucks, My dd 7 loves pocahontas and wanted to see the show last time we were there. we just couldn't hit it at the right times and missed each show for the day we were at AK. we were hoping to be able to see it in 2010! darn!
