Disney to cancel FPs if room is cancelled

Today would be 60 days from her original dates. So, it appears that the system recognized that she had FP's that were booked with a 60 day booking window that she no longer has...and it has alerted her to take action, or lose them.

The "early" booking part (>60 days), was obviously some kind of glitch. But, it appears that the fp's booked under the glitch would have been honored (if she had kept the original booking) since the system recognized them as being legitimate at the 60 day point from the original booking window.
So is it that she doesn’t have a reservation for the day of the FP or because she cancelled?

I don't think we can gleam anything from this single report. Here it's more than that it was a 60 day window she no longer has - it's that she's currently still beyond 60 days and has FP outside of any booking window.

The test we would have needed to see is what would have happened if she didn't change her dates until after the booking window for those FP would have opened. (Or if she makes a resort reservation for April 30 see if it allows her to keep that FP). And in any event - we're dealing with FP that were booked due to a system glitch so who knows if that is even right.

We have enough people who have done similar tests with different variations but at least several of them should have received the same email if it was merely looking at was your FP booked within a valid booking window. I still say the most likely way this will turn out is that FP will be cancelled only when the stay is cancelled for that date or when some change is made so that FP you have exist outside of any current booking window you're entitled to. I'm very skeptical that they system will accurately be able to do anything involving "looking back"

We probably also can't glean anything from this single report too. :thumbsup2

New data point from some of my tests, not sure how informative it is given the systems wonkiness, but here it is FWIW. I made a reservation for 4/30-5/12 room only with AP. Last week the FP window opened early (should have opened this morning) and I scheduled FOP. I then modified that reservation to 5/3 to 5/17. (This was on 2/24 at 10pm) I was given NO warning of any kind regarding FPs. This morning I got this email:

We see a change has occurred that impacts your eligibility for the following FastPass+ experiences on 05/08/2019:

Avatar Flight of Passage If action is not taken to restore your eligibility, these FastPass+selections are subject to cancellation on 03/02/2019.

To keep your FastPass+ selections, by 03/02/2019, you may need to:

  • Purchase another ticket and link it to your My Disney Experience account.
  • Link a ticket you already have to your My Disney Experience account.
  • Link an eligible Resort Reservation to your My Disney Experience account.

I’m really confused. Why are they threatening to cancel the Fastpass if you have a resort reservation on that day...as well as a park ticket?

She basically had a "leading reservation" where she booked a reservation that would have opened her window early in order to book fastpasses for earlier in her real trip. The email she received is what we have been expecting if Disney was truly closing the leading reservation "loophole" as they supposedly said they were.

He was correcting the poster's use of the word "gleam" vs "glean". It took me a minute to get it the first time I read it.

Me too as I wasn't wearing my reading glasses when I typed it!!!

EDIT: Also - just looked at the other thread referred to above and every email seems to be related to someone having booked outside of 60 days due to the glitch. So I still say nothing to GLEANNNNNNNNNNNNNN from this.

I see. So, bc the fastpass became out of the 60+ window of the current reservation. I wonder if they would have cancelled the first part of the reservation after the 60 day mark of all fastpasses if things would have been fine?

Let’s not forget they are also adding Riviera this year to the 60 day pool...

Hopefully they will dump some of these whenever Reflections comes on board...It’s just too crowded...

But - for whomever said this - it’s definitkey about the benjamins - and this is a HUGE perk for Marriot that I assume is coming at a major price!

Are there condos at the Hilton? Or are you thinking about the timeshare condos at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek?
Timeshare condos at bonnet creek. I probably should open the link and read but I'm lazy and too hard on my phone so forgive me.

I think if this turns out to be a real enforcement of the policy to eliminate the "loopholes"..I would think this can be done with a CM review of suspected abuses, and then the warning can be sent.
Just with this thread and the original article about this, they have thrown a lot of doubt about being able to work the system and will dissuade some from trying rather than risk losing their fp's at some point before arrival.

HILTON Bonnet Creek is getting the 60 day fastpasses and EMH, I think WYNDHAM Bonnet Creek (a completely different resort) is not. Wyndham is the only one of those two with timeshares, to my knowledge.

Yes I understood it to just be the Hilton and Waldorf Astoria hotels only. They are very close to the other hotels in the program.
