hi all
well i have just been on the phone to virgin trying to book our hols for next year,i asked for 2 quotes 1 for the last 2 weeks of the 6 week holidays and 1 for the october half term week (pulling sons out for a week)and to my suprise the august holiday worked out cheaper and the rep on the phone told me because of the october half term that the disney tickets are infact more expensive for october has anyone heard of this?

Sounds like yet another way to make money off of us poor folks who are tied to the school holiday! :confused3

lynn it sure is, i also get annoyed that a 10 year old has to pay an adult ticket pirice as well

I know that both this year and last year the october half term holidays have worked out a lot more £££ than they did the year before, I think the tour companies are catching on that this is really the best time to visit,
Nov 2005 £2000 for party of three - October half term worked out £2400
this year - sep 2006 £1900 for three, October was £2300
october 2004 £1300 (admittedly was off site but even then the jump up to on site wasn't a great deal more)

Disney tickets are a constant price throughout the year but early Oct the room prices go from value rate to regular rate so this may be what they are talking about. Mid August to early October is value rate, so hence August would be cheaper if on site.

Disney do not differentiate for ticket prices it is the same no matter when you go during the year and increases are usually in January for the following year, obviously some holiday companies are making special offers for tickets in low season!
