Disney tickets/Expiry

Am I right in thinking that the new Disney 5-day hopper passes now have expiry dates? In the past you could save a day until your next trip, whenever that was going to be, but I think I heard that now you have to use them all up within 14 days.

Is this true? (I was hoping to hold a day over this trip)

My understanding is this...

Whatever tickets you had already bought prior to the new system will have the same specifications as they always did.

I bought a 5 day hopper last Aug to use this Aug and it IS still a 'Hopper' pass that can be used until all 5 days & 2 plus days have been used regardless of time.

If you buy your tickets on the new system then you would need to specify when purchasing if you require you tickets to allow park hopping & no expiry date.

like i have said in the past they have realised that people keep hold of there tickeks and if they dont go for the no expry option when they go back they will have to buy new tickets sound logic if you want to make more money

Wallmart were still selling five day hoppers with no expirey for $280 last week, they are the old kind that do not need finger scans.

In some ways the MYW tickets are good, i.e. you pay for what you want, so essentially there are 4 choices:

No park hopping, no waterparks etc.
No park hopping, with waterparks
Park hopping, no waterparks
Park hopping with watterparks

Having decided on that, you then choose to let them expire or get the no expiry option

We ordered our 5 day hoppers through Virgin when we booked the hol. The brochure does say they are non-expiry but I think I'll check with them as their website is now showing the new tickets!
