Disney Ticket Question

We are booked for a week of free dining beginning on August 16th. We are flying down early on the 13th before free dining begins and staying at CBR until we move to Pop on the 16th. The weekend before we do not have park tickets (13th-15th)...the plan was to enjoy the resort, DD and just being there. Now my DH thinks he would like to go to the parks....there's no way to do that with our budget (3 day tickets are almost $900.00) Does anyone know or have any ideas for how we could do this economically? I am pretty sure the free dining was a part of a package with tickets included (Magic Your Way deal)...DH had suggested we just cancel our tickets and buy 10 day tickets when we arrive on the 13th but I am pretty sure the free dining would then be canceled...Does anyone know or have any suggestions for us????

Had you purchased multi-day tickets with your package? If so, reduce your tickets on the package to only one-day to preserve the free dining but reduce your package cost. Then you can purchase other multi-day tickets to use before your package starts.

The one-day tickets you can save for a future visit.

We have purchased 7 day hopper tickets for the stay beginning the 16th. So I need to just call and change that to one day tickets- then buy 9 or 10 day tickets with the shorter reservation beginning on the 13th....is that what you are saying? Thank you so much...I never would have thought of that!!!!!

I think you have a couple of options. As the previous poster suggested, you could reduce your tickets with the package to 1 day and then purchase tickets when you arrive on the 13th, but if you do that, do not use the one day tickets, but rather save them for a later trip. To go from a 9 day ticket to a 10 day ticket is only $3 per ticket, so it's silly to save the $3 and use your 1 day ticket (worth $75) for that 10th day. Unused tickets never expire, so that 1 day ticket will be good until you're ready to come down again, and when you do you can upgrade it to however many days you need for that trip.

Alternately, it is possible to get your package tickets a few days early. I'm not sure if you'll need to go to the pop on the 13th or if you'll be able to do it from CBR, but you should be able to get the 7 day tickets that come with your package on the 13th. Then you can just upgrade those tickets from 7 days to 10 days ($9 per ticket).

I just changed my packages as the other poster suggested! I did have to pay an additional $271.00 for the difference in the packages....I changed the free dining package so that I have a one day base ticket with that package and added 8 day hopper tickets to the 3 day earlier stay. The CM changed us to be at the Pop for the entire time, which saved some money and may save time with having to check back in....did I do the right thing or did I spend too much??? Also, how will the one day base ticket work with the rest of our tickets being hoppers??? Will we have two sets of keys to the world???? I am a little confused now!!!!!!!
