Disney Thinks I can't add?

how does the meal plan work at DisneyWorld?
Also Disney vacation automatically charge a vacation insurance fee make sure that sin't part of it, you have dig a little but on the website to find it

:lmao: yep..that and TTMM so you are paying probably $300 or more for those 2 things...and the messed up thing is that you use to be able to get the character call for free except for a few select states...but i think now that its offered in a pkg its not free anymore

And TTMM permanently ends in December. And you can get one free character call through the DisneyMovieRewards website. Enter ENCHANTED if I recall correctly.

At Disney World, they offer several different levels of meal plans. The most common are the regular Disney Dining Plan and the Quick Service Dining Plan. The Quick Service Dining Plan is almost always a bad deal. Although you can save money on the regular Disney Dining Plan by eating at a few select restaurants and ordering the most expensive items. most people who use the Dining Plan either lose money on it or eat way too much food just to break even.

The WDW Dining Plan used to be a good deal for most guests, but in 2008 they removed the "tip included" feature, which is a huge deal on expensive meals. That, combined with significant price increases over the years, has tipped the scales of the WDW Dining Plan from a "must do" to a "do your homework before buying" purchase. Even when they offer "free dining", you are getting it free at the expense of other room/ticket package discounts, including DVC renting, that you can find.

We booked Raffles during that time period as well and you are definitely right. That pricing is WAAAY off. I agree with the others. I'm a big fan of creating the package myself:thumbsup2

I would also like to say that booking through a travel company can be a great use and actually save money for certain vacations. I have found that, for myself and family, my booking each part of the trip is cheaper then a travel company when booking our DisneyLand trips. You may not be aware that if booking with a travel Co. and if there is an issue with reservation you must contact the travel company as they are the ones that hold the reservation not you. I learned this the hard way when staying off site at a good neigbor motel and having a horrible experience. Since that experience some time time ago I have always planned my own trip. With time I have learned to be patient and wait for Ap rates, I wait for airfare rates to go down to what I know from past trips to be a great price. The Dis is a great place to spend time seaching for others airfare prices from your area. Park tickets are only going to go up unless they have specials that will be reported here. I would not use the meal vouchers and if I did I would only buy half as many as you think you are going to use -- portions are very large so sharing is easy. Since you are traveling during a high time character meals will be at a higher price ( usually 3-5 dollars more per person). You will have a wonderful time no matter. There are a number of restaurants near the good neighbor motels. Joe's crab shack, Mimis -- a great all around restaurnt with good food for a very reasonable price--, Denneys, Fire and Ice, and a very good Itialian restaurnt with great pizza and great food that delivers. Yep, delete the food vouchers you will be glad you did.

Have a great time and a fun time planning. There are a great many people on the boards that have so much planning knowledge and they are very helpful.

I haven't checked for an update recently, but is the Disney Rewards card accepted at many places? I'm trying to build up a chunk on that thing for tours, meals, etc.

I used a rewards card easily throughout the resort when we were there. It works just like a credit card at the shops and restaurants in the parks and hotels. I'm not sure about DTD, though. I know you can use it at World of Disney, but I don't know about the rest.
